I think Mirabel's "power" so to speak is that she keeps the whole family together. Notice how in the trailers at least, she is the only one who frequently interact with the casita. Everyone seems to take it for granted, yet the house is the thing giving them their powers. Also, look what am amazing, sweet relationship Mirabel and Julieta who is a healer have, it could hint that Mirabel is also a very giving, caring person. Notice how she gets along with everyone and is the first person the kids from town approach. So it would make sense that Mirabel's power is really her gentle heart and sweet, caring nature.

Not only that but if you watch the trailer where casita is falling apart. Look specifically at the scenes with mirabel. Casita purposely moves objects around mirabel to keep her from getting injured. Both when she’s on the roof and on the ground, the roof shingles rippled her down and the ground rippled her back towards the walls where it’s safer. The magical house seems to care more about mirabel as mirabel cares for casita

My theory: Abuela doesn’t have a power, her power is to protect the candle, and if she dies, the magic is gone, the only way to conserve is by giving the candle to the next guardian, she can’t choose the next guardian only la casita, so casita chooses mirabel so at the end she becomes the most important madrigal even without a proper gift, just like her grandma

Bruno went into isolation after seeing a vision about how their magic would eventually fall in crumble at Mirabel's. So if that was an end goal for him, why would he run from it? It kinda doesn't make sense. I think what happened is that Bruno didn't run away after the vision, he tried to worn that something wld weaken their magic, but she didn't want to listen. Bruno then disappeared. I don't think he told her out right it would involve Mirabel, but given her believe that each new gen who gets a blessing makes their magic stronger, it makes sense she would have a growing anxiety over what would happen if someone didn't, and what that would mean for the magic. I also think this is in part why Mirabel doesn't get a blessing. Her pain and trauma cause her to be so afraid of Lossing the magic, her home, and family that she inadvertently became the catalyst for that very thing to happen.

Here's what I don't understand; Mirabel gets judged and looked down on because she has no gift or power, but why doesn't anyone say or do anything to her father or uncle who are also powerless and non-magical? Everyone seems so caught up and relying so much on the magic and gifts provided and given to them, that it may take Mirabel to help them see and realize that there is more to her family than just their powers and gifts...and that their family's love is more powerful and all the gift that they need. But that's just me.

Embroidery. Assuming that she has decorated her clothes, it is embroidery. And it required discipline, patience, passion and creativity. While the gifts of others will disappear with their deaths (plants will fade, weather will stabilize, there will be none to lift this heavy brick, cook or bake, or talk to animals) her crafts starting from clothes to embroidered pictures have a chance to last centuries.

I personally feel like Mirabel won't get any powers as it shows that her bond with her family is the most powerful gift she can have and as long as she holds that gift close to her then it's all the powers that she needs Edit: I'm also now wondering if Bruno was locked away by the rest of the family or he locked himself away because he foresaw that Casita was going to break and everyone was going to start losing their powers.

Personally I’m okay with it either way, like Mirabel having a gift in the end or she won’t have a gift. But I think maybe in the end she will have a special gift, there are some clues we see with her and butterflies. I think that like the candle Abuela holds as said to be born the Miracle of Casita, maybe Mirabel is somewhat like the ‘Miracle’ of the Madrigal family.

I think her gift is compassion. I think that everything going haywire with the house and the powers is because Bruno was outcast from the family and no longer included in any of the family trees. He saw the future of everyone losing their ability, and the family got spooked and started distancing themselves from him, leading to him being outcast. A sort of self-fulfilling prophecy. And through Maribel's compassion towards her family, both outcast and not, is what will save the family by bringing Bruno back. Maribel being the only one without a flashy gift like everyone else, is set up to see that Bruno's gift is just as valuable as everyone else's because at least he has one. This will put the whole family back together, because she DOES have a gift and she saved the family with Bruno's help. Also, compassion is something anyone can have, and it both gives her a gift and the kids a chance to see they could be her as well.

I cant help wondering if Mirabel's meant to replace her grandmother as head of the family and thus the heart and soul of the casita, the magic's disappearing because her grandmother is getting on in years and the casita is directly linked to her so its showing through their powers failing. If her grandmother is dying or ill then it makes sense she'd need a successor... just a thought.

I'm very under the impression that the grandmother doesn't have a "gift." If she is the one to handle the ceremonies and protection of the candle and telling of the story, I believe this will be Mirabel's role as well. Since the grandmother IS getting older. Perhaps a reason Bruno left was because he knew Mirabel would find him and further her journey/restoration of the Casita

Felix and Pepa: AKA Columbian Maui and Momo. I do think Bruno will have a story arc very similar to Hector from Coco; the black sheep outcast of the family who we are lead to believe that he abandoned his family or did something nefarious which forced the family to distrust him, but rather is a victim of circumstances or sacrificed some aspect of himself in order to secretly protect the family.

Did anyone notice in terms of the family lineage that with Mirabel, the surrounding vines are blank and empty, fruitless to the family vine. Meanwhile, everyone, including the men married into the family, have different flowers and beauty sprouting from their vines, for bringing useful tokens into the family and surrounding areas? It's pretty damn sad to be THAT useless to your family that it is literally depicted in a painting for everyone to see.

I think it would be important to notice that grandma also doesn’t have power, the same as Mirabel, but she is the leader and guider of the family, her desire of home at the beginning allow magic exiting by the candle. Mirabel will be the next Guider of family, grandma needs to know magic doesn’t rely on candle, it relies on the love of home, a family. That’s why Mirabel didn’t have a door when she was little, the fate she has to receive determines she need to go through the recognition part and then the actual door for her is the whole family

That the husbands have no powers isn't the explanation why Mirabel hasn't one. It's normal that every Madrigal (with Madrigal blood) gets a gift and children can only exist if they have a husband so marrying an unmagical into the family to evolve the family is deliberate. Every other kid has gifts, as we see. So that Mirabel has no gift was odd and that's why she felt left out, understandably. She didn't get a new gift, as we see at the end, and I think she is like Abuela. She is the only one who can safe the family and hold it together, like Abuela, so she also takes her role when Abuela dies.

Her powers are the ability to use her emotions. She became super fast which put everyone around her in slow motion, after the family takes a photo without her. She caused earthquakes when she was upset and going to deep into her emotions. She snapped herself out it and ran to the family to warn them. This leads to believe she can put things back together when she is herself.
