Ecliptor was one of my favorite Villain's/ right hand man to the big bads in all of PR History! I do wish that he hadn't gotten destroyed and turned to sand, it would have been cool to see him again in lost galaxy after Kerone turns into the pink ranger to see some kind of side story arc with that and what not!

I actually met Jason David Frank in a comic book shop in Davie, FL a few days ago. He was a real nice guy. I liked the Power Rangers and always had a 'soft spot' for it, but there were fans that really went crazy for Frank. Pretty cool experience.

I think the reasons Ecliptor was destroyed by the Zordon wave is partially because he was at point blank range to it where all the surviving villains were much further away, and partially because he was consumed with rage at Andros at that moment.

In think this too also his body protected Karone from that wave she would have been dusted too if she received the wave at that point thats why it took more time for her to be returned to good, instead of andros tears.

When he was in the final moments of his life, Ecliptor managed to free himself from some of his programming and regained the paternal love towards Astronema he once felt. When Astronema was accidentally killed by Andros, he grieved for her and swore revenge on Andros. Ecliptor's undying hatred of Andros and his loyalty to Astronema proved to be his downfall. His last act was shielding Astronema and attempting to stop Andros from destroying Zordon's energy tube, seemingly knowing it will destroy him and the United Alliance in the process.

Ecliptor is one of my favorite villains in Power Rangers. When he was turned into sand from the Z-Wave, it felt saddened since he has the potential to redeem himself since he has no interest in world domination. He deserves to be in Battle for the Grid DLC in Season 5.

Ecliptor, in the moment of the Z wave was convinced that the only thing he cared about, the only thing that he loved was gone. Anything good in him, any honor or courage or love was dead in that moment, all he had left was vengence and rage. A moment before her "death", a moment after her rebirth, things may have been different.

I feel like that idea is undercut by his last act not being trying to strike Andros down, but crawling towards Karone and then turning round to shield her body with his own. That doesn't look like dead love to me.

And then Ecliptor is the first to get Thanosed after Andros destroyed Zordon that unleashed the purifying wave across the universe.

I understand why he was destoryed by Zordon's energy wave, though I don't like it. He was created and programed to be evil from the very beginning after all. That said, I think if he hadn't been reprogrammed by Darkanda, he may have actually survived the wave. Once the truth about his princess came out (even though he knew from the beginning), he sacrificed himself to protect her as she defected to the side of good. Had he escaped, he likely would have joined the Rangers to protect her or could have played a double agent for the side of good. The fact that he set aside his hatred for Andros to save Karon says there was more good in him than anyone realized. While his ending made sense, I wish that good side of him had been explored more. Possibly even giving him a kind of redemption arc. At that point of the series, we never had a true redemption arc for any villain. The closest we had was Tommy and Karon, who were never evil in the first place. He would have been the first true villan to change sides. Just my opinion, but seeing Ecliptor join the side of good completely would have been a hell of a plot twist and I would have loved it.

Now give us an episode explaining Andros' Batllizer. I would like an episode for all the Battlizers, to eplain each one of them. I really like the Battlizers and I think the fans don't talk about them enough. I would also like you to talk about the Battlizers that were exclusive to the toyline, but never seen in the show: such as the ones for the Green and Blue Lost Galaxy rangers. I know they existed because I used to own those toys. I think it'd be interesting to do this. It'll give you a lot of content to work on.

Phantom "billy" ranger designed the delta megazord and the first batllizer. Everything Zordon & Billy did blueprinted Terra Venture & Fairweather's work. Captian Mitchell thought Zordon was full of shit, the space rangers were thugs and Billy was a criminal.

I've been hearing about another reboot of the Power Rangers franchise coming to Netflix. Assuming the reboot once again starts with Mighty Morphing, and if it doesn't fall flat like the most recent live-action movie, we could see a return to Zeo, Turbo, and In Space with potentially altered and expanded backstories and lore for a number of the villains, including Elciptor. And depending on how the audience, and Power Rangers fan base, takes the changes, we could get some interesting canon for everyone to work on.

I have a theory about why Ecliptor was destroyed, first of all he was evil but had honor, that counts as goodnes but not enough to withstand zordon's energy wave at point blank like he did thast the reason Astronema didn't got blasted too Ecliptor took most of the energy and that was more than enough to dust him but he was able to protect Karone and thats why it took more time for her to be turned good, is a better explanation that Andro's magic tears, and shows us how protective Ecliptor was of Astronema to be willing to give his life for her without hesitation.

Ecliptor and Vilamax are my all time favorite villain generals. Both are incredibly powerful, have a fair sense of honor, and are the polar opposite to another evil general of their respective series. Wished we saw more of this kind of villains in future series.

I want to see Boom Studios do a comic book miniseries that serves as either prequel of a sequel to other series. Like I want to see what happened to Andros first team predating in space and why so reluctant to have another team. I want to see Defenders of Merenoi basically season 2 of lost Galaxy. I want to see either time force season 2 or an adaptation of Hyperforce I want to see a series of the battle 3000 years ago that lead to the anemerum being forced into sub orbit and the quasar sabers and the savage sword placed into those rocks. And I want to see" RPM season 2". Just call it power rangers rpm: The next day. And follow the leftovers of the team as they tried to rebuild their world

i love ecliptor :( never understood why they killed him in countdown to destruction, really felt like they were building up to a redemption for him, but no :/ hoping the show or the comics revive him somehow and he can finally get that true redemption.

Ecliptor was legendary because of his tragic nature a warrior that was the embodiment of a black star a warrior that cast a shadow even over the brightest. his heart sullied by design and galvanized in loss and betrayal. unstoppable to stop him from his doom. Ecliptor was to good for the power rangers honestly but for me it was my most vital influence as a arc type.

I remember drawing character designs for new monsters as a hobby before Zeo came out and I had a villain who was gold brown that had the same offset spikes on one side of his body with a white circle ⚪️ on his chest like one of them push lamps

We all understand why he was destroyed in the Z wave, but it doesn’t mean that he _should_ have been destroyed. Someone created an awesome fanart of him as a psycho ranger. That honestly could be a good story in the comics. Like remains of his programming was fused with the spirit of the green psycho ranger. Give him the redemption arc that he deserved and have Karone try to help him.

Three things: 1. 4:42 - 4:51 That's what I've been trying to argue regarding fans complaining about Ecliptor's death. 2. One wonders that if Ecliptor had escaped with Karone and the Rangers if Ecliptor could have become an ally to the Rangers throughout the remainder of the series? 3. After Karone became the 2nd Pink Galaxy Ranger, would the a battle between Karone and the ghost of Ecliptor have been a possibility?

Power Rangers really kicked it into high gear with the Space season when it came to making interesting Villains. Although its a shame the Big Bad of the season, and by extension that series as a whole at that point, Dark Spector wasn't given far more screen time that he deserved.

Loved the character. I hated how he died i was 7 or 8 at the time but knew he was fiercely loyal to his princess and only her.. her "death" brought his demise i dont like it but if it had to happen what a great way to go protecting/defending the one person he really cared about/ loved.

After rewatching In Space Ecliptor didn't deserve to die. Imagine the fun the could have had with him in Lost Galaxy. He could have been the one to convince Villamax to turn against Trakeena. Maybe he could have been the one to train Villamax, thus giving the two a friendly rivalry. I could see his design staying the same with black being swapped for white. Maybe green eyes instead of red.

Ecliptor, alongside Astronema, is for Power Rangers what Mr Freeze was for Batman TAS, he is was the exemple of how the series is able to take their villains and make them complex, given depth to their motivations. I can understant why he was destroyed by Z-Wave. After seeing Astronema seemly being "killed", all honor and glimpse of good was erased. However, I kind wish he was kept alive at least until Karone wake up, making him die realizing that the girl he raised still alive (very similar to denethor from Lord of the Rings)

Eliptor got cheated at the end of In Space, he deserved a 2nd chance like Zedd & Rita. I'd prefer his fate had been he'd become human or his colors had changed to lighter ones either way retaining his memories, sword & powers. Eventually returning in a future season as a mentor figure to the Power Rangers utilizing his experience & wisdom for a new cause.

Ecliptor’s loyalty lies with Astronema and not Dark Specter. He didn’t even care when Astronema told him she plans to kill Dark Specter with her Psycho Rangers. A loyal general would have ratted her out.

the common belief/theory why Ecliptor wasnt spared from the Z-wave was due to him being built evil and all his good qualities mostly left when Astronama died and he tried to murder Andros for it. however Ecliptor is still one of my favorite Noble demons and among my favorite Power Rangers vilians overall
