I've just played it for the first time. The praises that the different rooms in Metroid Prime 1 received are indeed worth it and quite an accomplishment. Halo 1 is a good game, but I doubt I'll be replaying it.

Man this was such a nostalgia trip.. I loved this game when I was young, and I’m glad that I still love the story now that I’m older. This game’s world building was phenomenal, you were instantly hooked on the story and lore. I really hope the series does it justice.

I think with most all old games it’s hard to get into them if you didn’t grow up with them or were exposed to them in some way in your youth. Especially living in the 4K Next Gen era, these old games are hard to get through but I honestly believe Halo is timeless. Functionally it’s as easy as a shooter gets & the story is immersive and enthralling. It’s truly a classic and an all time great series in the video game medium. All across KZbin you’ll find that word being used to describe lots of these old games. Most of those claims truly aren’t accurate because old games are just that… old. Sometimes clunky or archaic but when classic is used to describe Halo it couldn’t be more true.

Homie I wanted to kill my self from the difficultly of this game. I was playing on normal. I’d have a billion floods on my ass and the driving mechanics were trash. Just beat it today. 7,8,9,10 missions were nearly impossible

@@Tobey_Maguire- just finished Infinite, combat evolve lands in D tier for me, it just wasn’t fun with hard difficult it was, and the terrible controls. There was 1 level specifically it was ice level and u had to run into the generators. I think I spent like 4 hours on that level. Soooo many enemies clustered in a single room, every single one equipped with rocket launchers.

I didn't like CE, it felt boring to me. You go to a place and fight the convenant, then you go to another place and fight it again and so on. I think that's only in he beginning but i didn't like it

@@axothewizard5527 you're comparing it to a modern shooter. Combat Evolved is 20 years old. It literally Kickstarted the twin stick fps on its own. It's one of the most important shooters in history for what it started and represents to this day.

@@manderm Chronologically the order would be: Halo Reach, Halo CE, Halo 2, Halo 3 ODST, Halo 3, Halo 4, Halo 5, although you probably want to play halo 3 before ODST.

We can't call it unplayable when it became renown as hell because of Mass effect 1. 2 was the peak yes, and three was absolutely fantastic regardless of ending, which honestly just needed a damn speech it didn't matter that he died they just had no respect on my boys name lol it's known, very fairly as the greatest trilogy in gaming. I've never read that on Halo much. Revolutionizing, first person, great series but I don't think anything gets trilogy like mass effect. They also fixed 3s ending lol

i just beat it today. the only thing was auto saved checkpoints. you die and get thrown away to literally like 4 or 5 checkpoints away so you have to combat your way all over again which can be demotivating. other than that it was really so much fun and i truly enjoyed it. first time playing halo btw and i intend to complete all the the rest of the series since it's on gamepass

Halo: CE was a home run for Microsoft/Xbox being an exclusive. I remember buying an Xbox immediately after playing Halo at a friend's house, I'd always had Playstations until then. Halo 2 and Halo 3 releases were crazy too. I remember being at blockbuster at midnight and the store was packed with people both times. They were giving out Halo souvenirs and everything. Halo was such a big part of so many kids childhoods, it's crazy.

@@mitsuhed it's funny cause I've never been a Halo fan but decided to run through the whole series and try. Halo 1 I can tell revolutionized slot but it felt so dated in design that I struggled hard to finish it until I did coop the last few missions. I would never go back probably lol Halo 2 however is giving me EVERYTHING I wanted to experience from a game with Halos reputation. I'm on mission ten and I'm loving it even by today's standards and I don't even need it on the remastered visuals mode. To me, Halo 2 is timeless and the series now has more of my attention

If you've never played Halo CE at the time it was released then it's a different feeling than playing it now to see what it's all about. At the time everything looked so innovative and fresh, the graphics and visuals blew our minds, the gameplay was something that was never done before at such a high quality for console. And the coop was the backbone of the fun. What a time to be a gamer to experience that.

I remember loving the story and the gameplay when it came out but it’s so boring when I played recently on XSX. I loved halo 2 and missed out on rest of series so I went back to experience Halo franchise from beginning but I literally fell a sleep playing CE. Halo feels so slow and clunky compare to any other FPS, I played newer entry like Infinite and Halo3 MP but those are still slow for me to enjoy. I see why every new Halo failed to capture new audience because they refuse to evolve when creator Bungie went out to rebuild the whole movement in Destiny but 343 stuck with clunky movement of old halo while introducing every new monetization of current FPS
