Patrick Fabian did such an amazing job as Howard Hamlin. To go from some fake tan douche in the beginning, growing to a sympathetic and broken man to his tragic ending with seemingly near unanimous respect from the audience really takes some acting chops. Plus outside of acting, Patrick seems like a genuinely nice bloke and seeing him just hanging out with other members of the cast and attending events on his social media is just really cool. Thanks for your dedication Patrick, you're a legend.

Howard Hamlin is one of the best written and played tragic characters I've seen. He underwent a change from being disliked and even hated for being an obstacle for Jimmy (when in reality that obstacle was Chuck), transforming into a man who can bear responsibility for what he has done, to ultimatley being a victim of an elaborate plot crafted by Jimmy and Kim. In the end, I think that both Jimmy and Kim were resposible the most for Howard's death, as Howard wouldn't have been in their apartment if they didn't made a scheme againt him and Lalo wouldn't have been in their apartment, if Jimmy and Kim didn't made ties to an extremly dangerous Cartel. Adding further insult to injury, Howard is buried with his killer, undearneath the meth lab, with his legacy being tarnished forever. Creators of Better Call Saul made Howard an amazing character with an incredible story arc and Patrick Fabian perfectly played him. It's actually so good to see that Patrick and Tony became genuine friends!

I still want more from this universe. Anyone who claims they don’t is kidding themselves. The feeling of finally being able to watch a new BCS episode, sometimes after years of waiting, was unlike anything else for me.
@lowryder259
@lowryder259 11 ай бұрын
I think most claims that they don't want more comes more from the fear of wearing itself out and not standing up to the quality of BB and BCS. Myself included in this. If we could 100% know without a single doubt that another entry to this universe would be just as good or better, of course everyone would want more! But that's never a guarantee with this stuff, and frankly I'd rather it forever be just these two series than have one that comes in and puts a blemish on the whole thing. And yes while you can just ignore/personally retcon a new series you don't like, it's not always an easy thing for some people to do. Simply having the knowledge of these other events or characters that are strongly tied to BB and BCS can make it easy to be reminded of it when relevant moments occur upon watching/discussing the series again...

@@BrodyDarwizzyI fell like that would be over kill :/ why would Holly want to find the find the guy who made drugs with her dad?! Flynn had so much hatred towards Walter that I doubt Holly had that many unanswered questions. Plus, as much as Brock & Jesse got along, Jesse really wasn’t in the kids life that long. Not saying Brock doesn’t remember him, but years down the road idk if I see Brock wanting to really look for him when even though he liked having Jesse dating his mom, the poor kid probably has so much pain and trauma with his moms death that maybe even thinking of Jesse hurts too much.

I forgot how complex better call Saul truly was. Thank you for giving the love to Howard that I feel like many people didn’t have for him the first watch of BCS. your retrospective really shows how convoluted every relationship is in this show and how much he effected everyone in the storyline. I also love too how we the viewers see Jimmy and Kim as the main characters and wanting to side with them because of this, you prove to us now how they evolve to terrible criminals and people that we come to hate. They may not have physically pulled the trigger on Howard but they tainted his name that will forever be remembered. And that I feel is almost worst. Love the content!!!

When I heard about Better Call Saul I thought wow, I don’t wanna see more of that character. But my son and I started watching and I was hooked. Maybe even like it better than Breaking Bad if that’s possible. I never thought about Howard’s character that much. Watching this I realized that was a mistake. What an excellent job of breaking down his character. I have a whole new appreciation for his character. And the actor is just outstanding. Bravo! While I realize his demise ultimately lies with Kim and Jimmy...I completely blame Chuck for every single thing. He alone was responsible for the development of Saul Goodman....he was well on his way of being an elder law attorney....and Chuck couldn't leave it alone. Him using Howard as a puppet all those years created a disdain from Jimmy that made it easy to do the things he did. I wish Howard would have stood up to Chuck long before he did and I hate that he suffered with so much guilt for finally doing it when he did. Have you done one of these on Nacho? He is my absolute favorite character of the series and the one I believe has the most tragic storyline. Thanks for the video. ❤

33:16 Incorrect. He wanted to turn down the job anyway. He actually went through with turning it down because Kim told him that whether he took the job or not was completely unrelated to whether they would be together or not. Which, in Jimmys mind, meant that she would not hold it against him if he turned it down.

Airport dream: Howard, Sr. is where he wants to be, and going where he wants to go. Everything makes sense to him. Howard, Jr. is only there because his father is there. This is a direct parallel to HHM. Every choice that was supposed to be Howard's to make, was made by another person, starting with his father. It's probably why he admired Kim, and later Jimmy, so much... They lived their own lives and made their own choices: they were free. It's ironic that when Howard finally makes his own decisions (going where he wants to go), finally ignoring the forced will of others, he dies. Had he have submitted just one more time, he would have lived. Honestly, it's the perfect ending to his story arch. Howard spent his life dead, in living according to the will of others. When death finally met him, it was due to him deciding to finally live (and make his own choices).

OMG 3hr 25 min video? You're Awesome. I did not like the way Howard went out. They should have let him throw some punches at least. We had the boxing episode before that one

Just like how I supported skylar unlike most people with breaking bad, I also supported Howard my first time watching BCS. Yes he was a douche, but just like with Skylar, people seem to utterly ignore that the other party (Jimmy and Kim) are criminals. They have committed countless felonies, when Howard was just a man trying to fix his marriage and even help jimmy at that time. Howard was a COMPLETELY innocent person. Other than than the money laundering, which Skylar did out of desperation to keep Walt’s activities secret and away from Walt jr, so that his image of his father isn’t shattered, Skylar wasn’t a criminal whatsoever. She just didn’t want her and Walt jr’s future and reputation ruined because of her husbands stupid choices.

At the beginning of the show, we saw Howard, the lawyer, but by the end, we saw Howard the human. That job was really all he had the entire time, and we didn't see it until Saul and Kim's scheming made it a living hell for him. It's sad all of that lead directly to his death. One character that didn't deserve any of the BS he had to go through.

If standing against someone that is bad person. Make him off himself, are you supposed to do nothing? It is very bad lesson.

The thing about The Lord of the Rings being fresh at that timeline and Howard making the Gollum remark is brilliant! 😂 Also, Jimmy made Darth Vader remark which is around the time SW Episode II came out / SW spiked in popularity again 😂

The idea of the company being called HHM is kind of an analogy to how chuck doesn't repect jimmy. It could or should have been HHMM
