Something I've loved about how Higgins characterised Jason is that he is the Cyclops of the Power Rangers He has a tremendous pressure as the leader, and accepts it to his detriment. He would do anything for his team, and for "Ranger-kind" in a sense. And he's legitimately a brilliant strategist. He can be shown a problem, on a large scale, and devise a plan and carry it out to great success. It's so cool! Of all the ways Higgins and the team could've adapted Jason, I'm glad they decided on a way that evokes the essence of Cyclops :) To give an example, there's two moments that struck me with how 'Cyclops'-like they made Jason: 1. The teleport into Italy in MMPR #5 And 2. The penultimate battle at the Dome City of Corinth in the Shattered Grid storyline. In 1. There was a neat sense of global defence that felt very X-Men, and the way Jason made the others fall in line and thought quick to defeat the monster was textbook Cyclops. But the second, hooo boy that's a fun one In 2., all the remaining Ranger teams are banding together to fight back against Drakkon and his stolen powers army, and who is put in charge to lead the Ranger side? Now, albeit, it wasn't gonna be anybody else. He's the leader and red Ranger of the mainline of comics, of course it was gonna be him. BUT in the context of the universe, all Ranger teams knowing his legacy, PLUS the fact every single Ranger follows his leadership without question, goes to show his exceptional value as a leader and a tactician It feels like how, if it came to it, and a threat came to Earth, Cyclops could lead the Marvel heroes, and has in the past A lil neat paralleli wanted to share 😊

This is just full of fan service: 0:49 "Wouldn't it be cool if Jason used to be a bully?" Why would Zordon give all that power to a bully? "Because now he can have an offscreen redemption!" 1:35 "Wouldn't it be cool if they were all green rangers?" That takes away the value of all their other colours. 2:00 "Wouldn't it be cool if Jason constantly listened to the news, and scan the moon for Rita? " But Zordon would call them the second anything happens. 2:22 "Wouldn't it be cool if Tommy died right after becoming good just like in Zyuranger?" The green candle? "No! Lord Drakkon, obviously!" 2:31 "Wouldn't it be cool if Kimberly got the dragon shield?" 3:39 "Wouldn't it be cool if Jason, Zack, and Trini lied about the peace conference in Switzerland so they can be rangers somewhere else?" Why lie? Why not just tell them the truth? "Because it has to be a mystery!" That just makes them untrustworthy. "um........"
