The mic was pointed down-ish towards your throat, that leads to gravely tonality. If you talk directly into it it'll have the proximity effect, which accentuates low frequencies & voices sound deeper. Also, Major Key: If you point the mic at your hog it asserts dominance & everyone thinks your badass.

I tell so many people this man. Just cause only a couple hundred people watched your video, listened to your song, etc. it's about WHO is watching, not how many. Someone who is important in your industry could offer YOU a place to work just because they admire your vision, not because it's going viral. Love this video, such a great conversation !!

Colin and Samir, over the years I have been watching you've introduced me to so many creators that either I did not know of or did not have interest in their content. I am 54 years old so the Nelk Boys never did interest me but I could see why they were big and I knew Jesse and split off from them but that is my full extent of what I was aware of. I will go watch some of Jesse's Sunday videos after seeing this interview, this is one of the values you both bring to us, thank you.

This has been one of my favorite conversations so far! It's cool and refreshing to see creators not be afraid to switch things up and go after something that they really feel is best for them! Also loved the candid first impressions and then seeing the similarities surface to the top as the convo went on, it's like watching a friendship grow before your eyes. 👌🏾

He faced the dilemma that I think a lot of creators go through - where you outgrow the content you've made. I can definitely understand where Jesse was at where he woke up not wanting to make the content that worked for that niche. I didn't watch Nelk much before Covid (not a fan of prank content), but I think they've done an amazing job at pivoting and the content from 2020 until now has definitely increased in quality massively imo.

1st of all I wanna say 1 thing, looking at your channel you do take some solid photos and That's definitely something you are talented at And should pursue if it is a Passion of yours... That being said I have no belief that your statement is true to begin with... for you to have Been watching them in the "early MTV days as a teenager" you would have to be ATLEAST 31-36. Since Andy's show didn't even premiere until 2005... And considering bam had only been on MTV from 2000 until 2012. Though you claim you were a teenager in your room watching these shows. meaning at least 13, making you 31 to 36 years old at the absolute minimum. You do not look or sound like you are older than maybe 24 at the most. And I wouldn't be surprised if you were barely 22. clearly were heavily influenced by the school system of generation Z otherwise you wouldn't have been listening to Big Daddy government like a cucked citizen, walking Around outdoors in the sun wearing a muzzle over your nose and mouth... And I'm sure you were proud to also get that sauce in your arm like all the other easily coerced GenZ kids....

Creativity being born out of scarcity is super applicable to my own experiences but I never thought about it that way. Definitely forces your hand a bit when you have a vision but either don't know how to explain it, or can't find the person capable of doing it for you, you have to jump into the deep end of the pool to figure it out! So far I've watched this twice, I'd have to put it up there with my fav interviews you've done. (Andrew Schulz, Cody & Noel, and now this one with Jesse)

Started watching nelk my freshman year of college in 2020. I loved the entire drinking aspect. I’m a junior now and I rarely ever drink. My sophomore year I did exactly what Jesse decided to do. I put myself first and started to focus on what my future looked like. I say this because it takes balls to change especially in his position. But ultimately he’s smart as hell for realizing what’s important vs what isn’t. All I’m focused on now is buying my mom and dad the house they always dreamed of but could never afford. I still watch nelk vids and I love them all so even when I’m not drinking 24/7 I support the content and love it. Long story short, I support both sides yk. They took care of Jesse because he helped build them from the ground up. So inspired to see Jesse finally gave his family what he worked so hard for. Also, I love the podcast. Amazing questions were asked. Keep up the great work. I’ll definitely be subscribing to the channel!
