It always bothered me when for the first few episodes they called it the Mega Thunderzord. It just never sounded right. So glad they finally changed the name to Thunder Megazord

If they used the Dragonzord, with the thunderzord, in live action, they would have to do a major rehaul. Zordon, even said, the Dragonzord, wasn't compatible.

The Red Dragon Thunderzord is still my most favorite zord! It's such a shame it got destroyed in the series.

It's getting a SMP set soon, but that's small and you have to build it yourself. I enjoy the building process and how poseable they are, but I know they aren't for everyone. (They're also pretty expensive). Maybe we'll see a ZAP version eventually.

I was watching another KZbin channel called The Disney Brain and he talked about Power Rangers storylines. I asked him in a comment why doesn't he talk about the Megazords, weapons, or the battles the rangers have had that we as kids loved growing up. He told me there isn't much to talk about when it comes to those topics. Then I found this channel and never went back. Keep it up

One thing I wish they'd done more in the show would be the individual zords working together before joining to form the Megazord, like you saw with the ninja Zords in MMPR The Movie, each of the Zords were able to be used independently, but once the threat grew great enough, they all came together for a power boost. But instead, they just hop in the zords and immediately declare they need to come together and form the Megazord. There was one episode I remember from season 1 where they did it with the dino zords, and they did sometimes do this with Turbo's Rescue Zords that could morph into their own battle mode. Maybe this is something that's been done in later seasons, I've only seen MMPR through In Space, plus Dino Thunder. Maybe I'm asking too much for an American series based on stock footage of a preexisting Japanese show.

I agree! had they done this they could have had a better chance at taking down Rito Revolto, I believe.

By the way I also used to also wonder why they always went straight to mega zord and hardly ever fought the monsters individually for awhile. Sometimes they would do this with the orginal zords and the ninja zords. By the way ninja zords were never destroyed.

My favorite memory of the Thunder Megazord is the Thunder Megazord transformation sequence in Part 3 of The Mutiny. And my least favorite memory of the Thunder Megazord is their destruction in Part 1 of Ninja Quest.

Hey there Sixth Ranger just wanted to say thank you for this video dealing with the Thunder Megazord and the Thunderbirds that create it. I have to admit that the Thunderzords and Thunder Megazord was absolutely incredible and really interesting, just because it actually had the Red Dragon Thunderzord and it Warrior Mode. Awesome video as always 6th Ranger. Season 2 of MMPR is an interesting topic as Dairanger is a thing. I think it would have been cool, if it was this damage from Pirantishead freeze combined with Zedd power stripping that slowly weakened Dinozords; and damaged Dino Coins, creating a storyline where not only the Green Ranger was at risk of losing his power but the four 4 rangers as well.

Quick question, the last time the dinozords fell into the Earth's lava...it actually HEALED them. Why would falling in a second time destroy them?

I kind of wonder if it healing them was just exclusive to the Super Sentai version of the show, as not only is it not explained in Power Rangers (someone correct me if I'm wrong), but when it happens the first time the Rangers comment that their zords were totalled. This to me would seem to imply that, at least in the Power Rangers adaptation, it actually did damage the zords. Power Rangers doesn't always follow the same lore as the Sentai series they are based on, and they took a lot of liberties with the series up until the conclusion of In Space in an effort to maintain continuity and use the same cast, rotating out old characters and replacing them while still keeping the original team at least partially intact. It's also for this reason why they didn't give them new costumes in ranger form until Zeo despite Tommy getting a new one when transitioning to his white ranger powers

Thunder is the name for a noise we hear after lightning strikes, so I always thought the name “Thunder Zords” was so stupid, but this megazord is very cool nonetheless. Wish it had a better name though, even lightning zords would have been vastly superior.

I don’t think seeing the dragon thunderbird in live action is possible, but they should show if Hasbro gain enough brains to make an animated series loosely based on the boom studio comics

Loved the thunderzords. Had the toys as a kid and they were great. Never understood why the lion, firebird, unicorn and griffin zords never had any offensive firepower like the dinozords did. Still awesome though

In part 3 of The Mutiny when Zordon tells Alpha, "We must work quickly to preserve what remains of the zords. Recalibrate the morphing grid, & encase the zords with static power. Then move them to their hiding places, and with luck they'll be enough left of the old zords, to create the new zords". made me think the dinozords were coming out of the hiding places before becoming the thunderzords. For example the Mastadon would come out of its cage of ice then become the lion thunderzord & the triceratops would go accross the desert then become the unicorn. Reply

I have always thought the Thunder zords looked cool but I remember as I was watching the show, for some reason I don't think they were that strong which then they had to create a new ranger which is the white ranger.

They were, lore wise, supposed to be far superior to the dinozords. Unfortunately Saban worked with extremely limited stock footage, so the Thunderzord battles were amongst the most samey and repetitive zord battles in PR history. In fact, of 52 episodes in season 2, there is a grand total of ONE episode where the zords attempt to fight individually rather than instantly forming one of the megazod formations (Ep19: Two for One)

The lion, unicorn, and griffen have to be the worst zord designs. They’re so clearly there only to serve as parts for the MegaZord and have zero character of their own compared to their predecessors.
