This is my favorite Vault in all of Fallout lore. At least of the established ones. Im not sure why I find everything so amusing about this Vault. It shows signs of a lifestyle, the fiends. It has a pretty deep backstory, even for just being a few messages on a terminal. I have always found Vaults to be one of my favorite things about Fallout. They are so intriging with so much backstory and mystery. Its sad to hear what happened to those poor vault dwellers, but its also interesting to hear and learn about it. It makes me wonder what the stories of different vaults are. I would love a mini fallout spinoff game that focuses completely around vault life. Its in the same engine as normal fallout, but the entire game is upkeeping a vault. Different variables could determine what experiment happens inside the vault, or if none happens at all. I would love it so much.
@kittensoundwave34804 жыл бұрын
Well, they have Fallout Shelter, but that isn't the same as what you are talking about. I would like the whole experiment thing, and seeing what happens. I like (Well, "like" is a rather weak term) Fallout: New Vegas but I think it'd be a waste if you just did the Vaults from New Vegas, especially when the absolute best content from New Vegas is the stories the DLCs set up. The tale of Father Ellijah alone could take a massive analysis to get through and Ulysses is probably one of the most fascinating characters in Fallout history. I'd personally encourage you if you're planning to do New Vegas to do more videos like your profile videos on FO4's companions, your overviews of the many factions, or your long walkthrough and analyses of specific quests, because IMHO in New Vegas you can't just walk over to a random location and search for stories- It's not where New Vegas shines.

Newovar Here's a thing to consider: unlike how NV tells you the backstory usually directly, 4 relies more on you finding out if what X says is true about Y. Take what Preston tells you about the old minutemen back in Lexington and how if you actually go to Lexington, you will find a crap ton of ghouls there and even some bodies of previous minutemen members. Another example would be how Deacon tells you that he is an undercovered spy and this is proven by the fact that you'll occasionally find him in some towns such as Goodneighbor disguised as a citizen there

That's fine and I appreciate these bits but it doesn't really matter if you can't interact with these places. Look, I'm not saying Fo4 is a bad game. It's just different.
@bigbirb3407 жыл бұрын
I absolutely agree. Fallout 4 is 97% shooter and 3% RPG, you can't expect good quality story/dialogues/choices from that. Fallout NV is 75% RPG, that makes a huge difference.

often we forget that even the most evil humans are still in fact human, not all of their actions are evil. Though only a momentary distraction from their horrendous deeds, it's still food for thought.

Just FYI the fiends inside aren't hostile because the fiend working the door gave you the all-clear. You can get an all-clear without a disguise, you just need a speech check of 60

You should do a full let's play of fallout new Vegas or fallout 3. Either start it as a series or do it on Scotch And Smoke Rings. It would be very cool.

Poor Vault Three. The Overseer in Fallout 3 had partly the right idea. Mike wasn't dangerous or bad; he really wanted what was best for the Vault. He would have been a better Vault 101 Overseer.

I'm actually not sure Vault 3 was a control vault. I find it a bit too coincidental that in the games, all vaults ending in 3 had problems with water. There are a few exceptions to the theory of the water problems being intentional. 1: Vault 53. This vault was only described in The Fallout Bible, and is only considered partly canon due to not being in a game. It's description says it's equipment was designed to break down all over the place, every few months; who's to say some of that breaking equipment wasn't water related? 2: Vault 43. This one, while considered canon, wasn't in a game, but rather the first strip of a Fallout comic made by the creators of Penny Arcade. It's highly possible the canon stamp was put on it after Tycho had already written it. 3: Vault 63. I actually can't call this on an exception... yet. It's going to be in Fallout 76. None of the other vaults have water problems (at least, none that weren't caused by the residents). I would be able to state that the 3 ending can also point to a more generic "equipment failure" if it weren't for Vault 12, an in-game vault who's experiment was a purposefully malfunction vault door, to leak radiation into the vault. Do you think it might be more than coincidence that the 2 in-game vaults with numbers ending in 3 had water problems, or that it may be a pattern? Either way, we'll have to wait until the full story of Vault 63 is covered.

Problem is all vaults are closed in fallout 76 exept for vault 76 :(
@Deadsea_19932 жыл бұрын
I do believe this one was a control Vault. It survived for over 200 years and so naturally equipment would breakdown overtime.

I think this story is one of the saddest in the whole fallout universe. They were just a normal bunch of people and having too much faith in humanity killed them :(

The way motor-runner says that all the vault residents are dead always cracks me up.
@SeaJay_Oceans7 жыл бұрын
Bethesda dropped the ball on Motor Runner - you should be able to take his hat and become the new leader. You command the Fiends, and have Vault 3 as your home base. Also, Alternatively you should be able to capture Vault 3 and have the NCR clean it up and make it rehabilitated and useful vault home for the people of New Vegas. Same goes for rebuilding Vault 21. Two repaired and cleaned up vaults would triple the livable area of New Vegas and greatly help the local population by supplying needed shelter, purified water, and useful technology and medical support. Repairing the water purification systems and distributing / selling water would be a great boost to New Vegas.
@southparkkenny27 жыл бұрын
1st - Obsidian not Bethesda 2nd - Fiends don't believe in promotion through conquest (kill your way to the top) 3rd - Motor Runner doesn't really lead them, he conducts raids and deals with supplies/drugs but he lets them do all the raping and killing they want because he can't actually control them 4th - NCR is completely preoccupied with the Dam, maybe after the war you could, but not likely 5th - Vault 21 is already functional as a hotel on the strip, I assume you meant 22 (the plant one), if so, its far too overgrown with wildlife and compromised from mutant plants/bugs to be safely livable 6th - New Vegas already has pure water in and around Hoover Dam and Lake Mead, they don't need anymore.
