The Fummins Project - Episode 6 - Installing The Cummins Into The Ford

In a world where one man likes to work in his garage, we present to you.... Fun King Garage!
This series walks though doing an engine swap in a 2008 Ford F-450 Super Duty. We are removing the 6.4L Powerstroke and replacing it with a 5.9L Cummins Turbo Diesel out of a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500.
In this episode we prep the Cummins for the addition of a Fleece coolant bypass (and make a few modifications to clear the adapter plate.) Then we get to FINALLY install the Cummins into the Ford frame rails!

Glenn, I have to say that you're doing great with this. I enjoy each episode and look forward to the next. Sean's camera work is outstanding and I really like the transition of you under the truck then continue the camera pan up and your working up top. Seems you guys make a great team together. Thank you! Only had to move the cross member back. I let that dictate where the engine would sit. My process was to let it sit there and adjust if needed, but it worked out perfect in that spot.

Where do you buy the whole kit from you do the swap from a 2008 Ford 350 diesel to a Cummins just need a little information please

Full disclaimer: There is no "WHOLE" kit to do this swap. You will have to piece some stuff together and you WILL have to fabricate. With that said, I went with the comprehensive kit from Diesel Conversion Specialists. There kit seemed to be the best setup and I also used their rewire service. There are other options out there if you wish to piece the kit together yourself. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!

As long as there is an adapter plate, there should be no issues. Check with Diesel Conversion Specialists and see what they have available. You can also check in the Fummins Tech facebook group and look for Mike Fuchs. He makes adapters as well. But it has absolutely been done with manual transmissions.
