What are the note durations in the first two measures? Also 6. It looks like a short vertical bar then a longer bar. If the longer bar is like a half note to get 3 beats, then the vertical bar of the same length in measure 3 would result in 4 beats.

Thank you for asking! The short line is a half note and the long line is a quarter note. So the first two measures have a half note followed by a quarter. The vertical bar in measure three is a long (quarter note). This is a common way they wrote it in sources and it can take some getting used to! I may change the font in the future if it gives people too much trouble. Let me know if that makes sense and if you have any other questions : )

@@laudonschuett3019 OK, that clears it up. I thought intuitively that the longer vertical bar was a longer duration, hence I was counting the first measure as a quarter followed by a half. I am more used to the tab notation from Sarge's site.

@@TheAlfonsovaldes Yes, Sarge uses fronimo and I have musescore. I would love to use fronimo but it is quite expensive and not updated very often. Take a look at this version in the link below if you get a chance and let me know if you think this is better. I'm always happy to make things a bit easier if possible! : ) www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/ij0hk7frfb42mt8uxt0dx/Unser_Koechin_kan_wol_kochen.pdf?rlkey=89esunhiyk9b30xtmwjf4d7ro&st=8k3pns61&dl=0
