this is great, more synth companies should make videos about sound synthesis basics.

Thanks for explaining this, it makes sense also when your sitting learning VST tutorials, iwas sitting & wondering if i could get the same sound on Lennar Digitals Sylenth1 & Synapse Audios DUNE through their init patches. Still their using diffrent type of synthesis, (Subtractive & FM) you could get the basic sound fairly right by studying how the signal paths goes, as described here.

My first "History of Synthesis and Sampling" uni course is tomorrow, which is why I found this video :D

This video was made "in the house" of the professor, not in the house of Moog! It's not because MoogMusicInc made this video, that the people who are acting in it, are members from Moog.Behind the professor you see also a Prophet 5 of Sequential Circuits(1978).

You could directly inject the LFO into the audio signal (tremelo), but I guess in that case it's a modifier not a controller

The early versions had a Moog filter - a copy, but still ;)

Just got a Korg Minilogue and I don't get that shit, I turn the same knob on different sounds and I see no similarity or system behind what most of them do, I hope this video will clear things up for me lol

God how I wish he was doing this tutorial on the Memorymoog in the background instead...

to teach in any musical sector, synth related teachings my favorite, you CANNOT slack off at your job, you may be grooming the next real musical prodigy. I think a break through will come in sound design, and it will change how music is ingested. maybe some sort of virtual reality/audio combo, or an eyes closed visual experience?
