Cool reaction to a Baaaaaaadddd show. Saw it in Chicago. I allegedly got this LA show on CD. You d prob dig prince s "I feel for u." It's on the 2nd album. Chaka Khan s 12" remix of "I feel for u " is nice. If u catch prince 1980 show on you tube, he does "I feel for u" w some heavy guitar at the end. That's the tour w Rick James. Might as well do the whole show in increments. After he performed w Beyonce at the Grammys, everyone ran to this show. It was his biggest tour in gross

I think that both L.A. & Detroit had their moments of genius. ✨Don't be too concerned that Maceo isn't in this show. You KNOW Prince was picky about his bands! Maceo is amazing, but so is Mike Phillips. He has an incredible solo coming up in the next song! (... a top song on my list of favorites; Totally with you on having more than 1!) To answer your question: Yes, "I Feel 4 U" is Prince's song. It was on his 2nd album & he gave it to Chaka Khan later. You still hear John because Prince didn't signal him to stop. You're 100% correct that Prince is a master of transitions; But he's also a master of conducting the very well-oiled machine that is his band! If you continue watching live concerts throughout his career, you'll see how he used certain cues all the time. Hand gestures, head nods, & several vocal cues, like "Good God," "Vegas," & "On the 1!" among others. Any performer- especially those in a directing position- could learn a wealth of knowledge just by watching Prince as a band leader. Looking forward to the next part!
