Prince’s guitar solo in the rock and roll hall of fame tribute to George Harrison is one of the most watched videos on KZbin. All star cast performing “While my guitar gently weeps.” Includes Prince, Jeff Lynn, Tom Petty, Steve winwood etc. another great concert of Prince is Montreux 2009 jazz music festival. Incredible new version of little red corvette (almost like a new song). This concert is one of Prince’s best of his career.

About that cool gothic green bass: It was a custom model designed by Jerry Auerswald for Prince and it's the sister of the original guitar design that he acquired in late '86 and frequently used from 87-91, It's known as the White Model C Guitar, and the bass is the Auerswald Cleo. Both are literal art and only 1 of each has survived I believe.

This performance is from his later years as he has the female bass player. When Purple Rain came out , the UK Metal Publication Kerrang stated Prince was the next Jimi Hendrix. There was a lot of uproar from the readers. Myself, I was just amused. Prince was a great guitarist in his own right, but to compare him to Jimi Hendrix was totally ludicrous. I never understood the adulation for Jimi when I was younger. Over the last year, I have been collecting a number of his studio and live albums. Jimi was in a league of one, and no one else could or cannot compare, including Prince. I'm not knocking Prince. Prince used to have his concert, and later, he would have a after party and perform for a further hour or so at a local club. The people attending had special invites. He did this regularly. My fave 12" is quite long in length. It's the song America. It is the full version that goes into a jam, just like this featured track today. The album version is just an edit from the 12".

COACH, SUGGESTION/REQUEST… (SORRY I’ve been leaving so many comments) “GET DOWN, MAKE LOVE” By Queen, live at: MONTREAL in 1981 Since you’re on the topic of guitar playing… Brian May’s guitar “special effects” on this song in particular, are pretty “far out” (Brian combined with the “special effects” that Fred would do with his vocals, too) It’s a very crazy, “atmospheric” piece!

Coach, this was actually an encore after one the concerts at the Great Western Forum in L.A. during a 21 night stand Prince did back in 2011. I being a Prince fan since day one attended 18 of the 21 concerts and not one night was the same. When it comes to this particular video you are watching my 12 year old daughter went with me ( I actually took her to 2 shows) and she still talks about it to this day and like her dad, Prince is indeed her favorite artist she even bought me Prince Funko collectibles. Mrs. Coach , it’s a shame that so many people don’t know the genius level guitar player Prince was and personally I say you should listen to “Just my Imagination “ Live..Small Club for his greatest guitar solo ever in my opinion. I’ll link it below 😁 kzbin.info/www/bejne/fYCQc2iqp9GegNEsi=WPhLhXndcYWdwvCC
