Oh hari you appreciate music so much. I really wish you could time travel to the 70's in West Hollywood. If you do find a Harris please ask Joe for my red silk jacket, which he "borrowed" to match his red silk pants 😀 this music was so blessed joe, jackson, Warren, and so many others

You probably already know Walsh is rated as the 50th greatest Rock guitarist in history by the Rolling Stone magazine His solo riffs with the Eagles are legendary. The late great Glenn Frey said of Walsh that he was some of the nicest guys he ever met!

Yes this is autobiographical! He said that Kieth Moon liked him and took Joe under his wing. Joe said that Kieth liking him really scared him as Kieth Moon was nuts. He and Kieth would see who could do the most damage to their hotel room. Aspiring to sing this song as biography in twenty years is an interesting insight into the mind of Harri. All in all, it could turn out to be a worthy accomplishment. Truly no one wants to experience the darker side of Joe's life. He described it as hell. He credits Glenn Frey with saving his life with the Eagles Reunion. He claimed that he was circling the drain for the last time when the group picked him up, took him for treatment, and delayed the Reunion until Joe was back. The man is a Rock legend and truly deserves recognition for his skill, talent, and work ethic. He's a mad man with a guitar and an entertainer extraordinaire.

While it may be somewhat autobiographical, I've always taken this song to be making fun of the excesses of the rock-n-roll dream. He's got everything he always wanted, but is too wasted and (self-)destructive to enjoy it. "I can't complain, but sometimes I still do."

He is also Ringo Starr‘s brother-in-law. He’s married to Ringo‘s wife’s sister. Ringo is going on tour again and Joe Walsh is going to be the guitarist in the band. I only hope he comes to Vegas so I can get tickets. I started playing drums because of Ringo and my drum set was the black and white pearl design that he had.

Love your reaction. Joe Walsh is to say the least... a character. When asked about Joe, Glen Frey of the Eagles, said that he's an interesting bunch of guys. If you haven't heard it yet, please check out Rocky Mountain Way (and his live version performed at Daryl's House is particularly memorable). He's a very talented guitarist with riffs that are immediately recognizable. I personally think that his ranking by Rolling Stone is way off. And for a little more Joe Walsh, give a listen to some of his stuff as a member of the James Gang... Funk 49 and Walk Away come to mind. I look forward to many more reactions! P.S. For a little more unique rock entertainment (with lots of piano and cowbell), I would love for you to react to Joe Cocker's Hitchcock Railway (studio version).

For all the notice Joe gets as the Clown Prince of Rock, his solo work is full of extraordinary songs with thoughtful, introspective lyrics, which tend to be sadly overlooked. His first post-James Gang albums, for example (Barnstorm and Smoker You Drink …) show off an entirely different side from this track and his work with the Eagles. Well worth checking out for any who haven’t

Joe Walsh is an American rock singer-songwriter & multi-instrumentalist. His career spans over 5 decades. He has been a member of three successful rock bands: James Gang, Eagles & Ringo Starr & His All-Starr Band. As a member of the James Gang they had a hit song with "Funk #49" & it highlighted his skill as both a guitarist & singer. He went solo in 1973 & had many hits such as "Rocky Mountain Way", "Life's Been Good", "All Night Long", "A Life Of Illusion", "Ordinary Average Guy" etc.

Great choice, Harri! This song always reminds me of when I had a summer job detasseling corn after my sophomore year of high school in 1978. "Life's Been Good" was always on the radio (which we could listen to while working) that summer, along with the theme song from "Grease," Bob Seger's "You're Still the Same," ABBA's "Take a Chance," etc. I particularly loved the guitar licks along with the clever lyrics in "Life's Been Good."
