Honestly, made the show. Shane's Trump is absolutely incredible, but no way he carries 2 hours on his own. Adam doing that stupid fucking grin and getting Shane to break every single time they made eye contact was hilarious, and they bounced off each other so well. Norm Macdonald criticized Alec Baldwin's Trump because he felt that in order to play a person, you actually have to like them. Alec couldn't stand Trump, so everything came across through the lens of how his seen him. It wasn't to be funny, it was to be preachy. Like "SEE!! See how bad Trump is." Whereas, Shane likes Trump and thinks he's funny. So, Shane comes at it from a pure comedy angle. He exaggerated Trump and pushed the line of things Trump would say. Even when he stood up to clap for the racist latino guy, he wasn't doing that to preach. He did it for the laugh and it got a huge one. I think Norm would adore Shane's Trump. And if Norm would approve, then you are on to something great.
