It’s nice to see Jacques doing an adidas review again - it’s been a minute with all the Nike stuff coming out thick and fast. This isn’t Ninja’s first collab with adidas, he’s done other models before. These are definitely 🔥 and a solid, very wearable colourway. With 3 pairs of ZX Torsion in my collection, I honestly love them - comfortable and with the right balance of retro and modern tech. The Cordura versions are tough as nails too.
@johna66024 жыл бұрын
Yep I have a couple of pairs myself and I like the cyan, linen green and blue ones out of all the colours, tho I'll say these work colour wise, but I have 0 interest in Ninja.

I think Adidas future collab success will depend on how well the sneakers sell. I believe when sneakers sell out at retail value or at least come close to selling out, that's when companies know they have something special. Personally, I've never heard of Ninja, possibly because I'm not into gaming tournaments. With that said, I really like the look of the shoe as well as the Ninja logo and I'm sure comfortability is top tier considering it's made by Adidas. However, I'm already anticipating a significant sale price to determine when or if I will pick up a pair. In the meantime, keep up the dope content as always Jacques! I admire your work! 🙏🏾💯

Sure gamers can get endorsement brand deals but it's not the same as for traditional athletes for shoes since they don't need them to perform. A gamer could be bare foot and it wouldn't matter to his/her success, whereas Lebron needs good sneakers to play.

I think the brand signing will depend on the overall market that it reaches or influences. The Kanye's and Pharrell's of the world feel like a outlier due to Kanye's vision and work to his sneaker and fashion brand and Pharrell's overall mainstream appeal and vision that he has for his line. Even with Travis Scott's current appeal he has collabs with Various Nike shoes from Jordans to Dunks very similar to Drake's OVO collabs with Jordan. It would be dope if we got Signature shoes from the Tony Hawk's, Janet Lee's, and Drew Drechsel's (Really for me I would have killed for a dope Tony Hawk shoe, then again maybe he had one, but not with Nike) of the world, but what would have been your consumer base, how large of a market would that have been, and how far away would that be from Sneakers overall all market of performance athletic shoes. The Michael Jordan, Bo Jackson, LeBron James, Andre Agassi, Dwayne Wade signature lines are/were driven by athletes that reached a lage consumer base. And some of those athletes signature line didn't stand the test of time other than the retro's that we get. Just my opinion though
@VerdeTraks4 жыл бұрын
I will say that collabs are a way of endorsing and working with influencers of the time. And when they have a good vision with a great story we get great shoes that sometimes enhance concept on some of the shoes that we already love.

I think anyone famous or "trending" has the ability to sell you a rock and people will buy it just because they put it out, so fashion is not surprising. Mc Donald's have a Travis Scott meal. I mean come on, it isn't nothing "new" or spectacular. Just put his name on it and it will sell.

It's definitely cool. but as far as esports go imo esport wont be on the level of real sports until competitions on on live tv and stuff and another big game sweeps the world up like fortnite. Cuz imo it seems like esports were gaining relevance when fortnite became a big deal but over time people are tired of hearing about fortnite. And thats what really separates esports from sports. So many games, and when a few get really popular they get played out and boring bc they aren't cultural CLASSICS like Basketball and Football.

Yes digital creators can be far more successful than a traditional athlete. Rapper shoes are the most important today, for brands athletes are no longer the main partnerships. It makes sense that adidas would be early on this since way back when they were the first to sign a rap group. Now they early on e-sports. However the execution of this shoes is wack, I’m pretty sure ninjas demo is younger and adidas may have been better off launching a loud color-way and focus on grade school
