The Future Of Airsoft Tracers: What's Coming Next?

We at VCC have been in development on a few different tracer unit components, one in particular is a redesigned feeding block for the stoner 63 (our main platform) with an integrated tracer unit. We are also are in development of IR tracer units and components that specifically illuminate specialized BBs within the IR spectrum, only visible under NVDs.

Love this Jet! When I started Airsoft my first ‘next birthday pressie’ was an Acetech AT1000 Tracer! I watched the BOE Nightgame vid and fell,head over heels in love with tracer and haven’t got over myself! (Oh, I’m 56 by the way and started 9 or so years ago, if anyone’s interested!!) Tracer is a joy that keeps on giving! Airsoft Innovation is the lifeblood of the game and must be encouraged. I have watched your vids from my start and you remain at the top of my watch list, especially for new vids, right up there along with Unicorn Leah, (Ma’am! Thank you too!) I think they should work on their efficiency and cost. I personally love GBBRs and I would want a tracer unit with smoke, because of all the coolnes and the feeling of it :)

I have a feeling the ultimate tracer tech will be something to do with the bb's themselves. Not sure how yet (fluorescent paint? something borrowed from bio illuminated creatures?) but this will mean no drain on battery and universal compatability

They already have those watergun/bb gun hybrids at Walmart. The BBs are filled with gel that make them safe when fired. If they were filled with glow-in-the-dark paint that is activated when struck with kinetic energy (like when fired and on impact) they would serve as both tracer and hit marker.

Blue mag blackout BBs are sick asf havent gotten a chance to try them but apparently they're only visible when using night vision.

1: I do like that the Traser is added to the HopUp, cause some traser units can be cumbersome. But they do work in some builds. I also feel this opens the door for lots more Si-fi airsoft guns.

What I want most of a muzzle device is a Fire Flash and Sound Amplifier. I don't even care if it has Tracer availability, I just want something for my GBBR so that I don't have to swap out sound boost for day play to flash effect for night.

Did you see the videos of the guy modding old school suppressor tracers right before the advent of the pistol tracer? The main reason those old tracers where big chungus was to house the batteries. He was removing the internals and putting them into a suppressor the size of the current acetech pistol tracers and mounting a small lipo on the rail of the pistol in a battery box linked to the tracer. He was ahead of the game, at the time I was using the ASG B&t tracer and I was so close to cutting it down and following his lead. But someone stuffed a tiny lipo into a tiny tracer and started selling them…

You would have to use propane instead of green gas because the silicone oil makes it hard to ignite

The hopup tracer unit is a cool idea, but the one shown isn’t as bright as the suppressor ones. Also, I think there are more guns with weird-style hopups than guns without factory threaded barrels.

"All modern firearms use smokeless gunpowder" Consider that before """smokeless""" powder, black powder weapons produced plumes of smoke. Smokeless powder still makes smoke, just nowhere near the volume of black powder. The visuals presented by that smoking suppressor when you said this would be entirely expected after a sustained firefight and a hundred or more rounds have already gone through the gun in a matter of minutes.

I don’t think the spray grenade launchers are popular enough. If anything a tracer on spring or gas grenades would be much cooler assuming it works properly. That being said I like the smoke coming out of the end of my guns realism be darned. The only thing is that I don’t want to change the aesthetic of the guns I have to do it.

Acetech had the Blaster unit well into development before the Spitfire was released. A few months after the Spitfire, then the Blaster came. We didnt see the Bifrost model for about another year after that. Almost had it there Jet. Also, Acetech has an upcoming AK flash hider version of the Bifrost coming
