I see others have commented on the cringing pronunciations, so to make it easier, here's a little background on the name. For the new post-war series of cars, they wanted to pun their name on Shakespeare's "Romeo & Juliet," which is, of course, written in English despite the story being set in Italy. In Italian, "j" is pronounced like a "y" in English (so, for example, the name of the designer, Jano, is pronounced "yawn-o"). In order to make the English "j" sound in Italian, "giu" is used, so the name was spelled "Giulietta." For the larger 1600cc models, they dropped the diminutive "ett" and made it just "Giulia," which is pronounced "Julia." The only other issue is the images not matching the narration going on, the worst example was multiple shots of Count Ricotti's streamlining exercise from the early '20s without ever mentioning it once! Still, as a life-long Alfista, it's a good start and being a mostly correct synopsis, I gave it a like.

@@Businessvidsofficial- You're welcome. I've been driving my 1974 GTV for 48 years so I am pretty well steeped in Alfa lore 🙂 BTW, I made a little mistake myself in the above description. It's just the "gi" that makes the "j" sound. The "u" was part of the regular name.

Fiat already owned Lancia, Maserati, Iveco, Piaggio, Ferrari, Alfa, MagnetiMarelli etc etc BEFORE they bought Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge. They did NOT come with Stellantis. (Nowaday of course, Ferrari is "officially" not under Stellantis (altho Agnelli (Elkann) is still in charge mysteriously 😊))

Yes, that's correct! (and also what the video says) Alfa Romeo was indeed acquired by Fiat in 1986. Additionally, on January 16, 2021, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) merged with the French PSA Group, forming the new multinational corporation known as Stellantis. This merger brought together various automotive brands, including Alfa Romeo, under the Stellantis umbrella.

They'd better think hard about abandoning fuel . Electric is NOT the way forward for an Alfa

@@Businessvidsofficial firstly as a wide body Airline pilot , I happily burn 15000 lites of fuel an hour into the sky . Theres a never ending supply and it's regenerating as we speak . We are never going to run out of fuel , we can also grow ethanol in the worlds wastelands of which there are billions of acres . Ignore the globalist tears as they try to convince the he world we live in shortage . They can fuck off . I own 10 classic Alfas and have owned over 40 of them , 2 Ferraris , Lancia's , classic Porsches , mini Cooper s etc etc etc and the one thing they all had was a voice . Without it there's just no soul to the machines and they become ghosts . Imagine an F1 Grand Prix without sound . ( oh wait a moment they sound putrid already , that's why the hardcore F1 guys don't watch the woke crap anymore anyway . It not just because Hamilton is a twat ) Fuel is the only way to make mechanical things visceral and authentic . Secondly electric is NOT eco friendly , its downright filthy in total . Do the research and see how much coal gets burned to produce and run a single EV . It's shameful Thirdly and most importantly, Alfa drivers are individuals who don't conform to the norm . We buy these cars knowing full well they are not the most reliable and yet we don't care a dam . They're the most reliable by far to put a smile on your dial and help remove those panties in the passenger seat quickly . That's a guaranteed fact . That's why men buy sports cars . Take away beautiful women and you'd not sell a single sports car ever . The Italians do sensuality better than anyone else with soundtracks that take the uncertainty out of dating . For that you have to have fuel . Period

Who....or what is the narrator? How can the history of Alfa Romeo be presented by someone.... or something that can't pronounce Giuletta correctly? Gee-you-letta?? Get a human next time.

The sales are going up a lot actually now that Alfa decided to move from niche European market to the international one. If people would be less ignorant about the legendary “Biscione” they would bring cars like the MITO and Giulietta that are thousands of times better than a Corolla or Yaris.

@@gerbenbakker931 him I don’t know but between my father and I we owned 6 Italian cars in total of which 3 Alfas; drove over 100,000 miles on one of them, just got 2 new ones and drove 10,000 miles and they are fine. The Italian cars are the most fun cars to drive and not so expensive to maintain (surely cheaper than a BMW) if you find the right place to service them.
