No, these aren’t the future of audio, these have been around for while now actually. And obviously these will sound better than AirPods, they’re used for mixing, engineering, gaming, and much more. If you guys want another good alternative, I would consider looking into the MoonDrop CHU II’s. Really good sound, around $20-$25 (after shipping costs) and great entry level IEMs

APPs are markedly better than Chus. Something in the $100-$150 range like Dioko, Timeless, Hexa, Aria would be a much better suggestion. Chus are good, not Airpods Pro good.

I would advice my ultra pods from €2,80 You need to use Glue since you can take the back of the pods 🤯 But after that they work like really good.... No serious, if the battery was better i would advice them if you got some glue Moondrop is pretty nice tho, was looking i to moondrops.👀

the problem is, wireless earbuds and wired earbuds are for ENTIRELY seperate purposes, and have difference use cases, so just comparing the sound they make doesnt really matter because when choosing between wireless and wired earbuds your main consideration should be what your using the for, so that means if your in the market for iems, your not going to be looking into buying airpods, and vice versa if your in the marked for airpods/wireless earbuds your not gonna be looking into wired iems. They are not in a whole different category. All thing that reproduce sound can be compared…. If it can be graphed it can be compared, and technically speaking AirPods and iems ARE in the same category. You would be lying if you said otherwise, there are very bad sounding IEMS that AirPods blow away and there are $30 iems that are significantly better then Airpods….

What you people commonly have are called consumer in ears and not actual IEMs, actual IEMS are called monitoring and possess a certain frequency response more tied to audio engineering then consumer listening, and they were always expensive. @@amazingamer if you want to try iems, buy a tangzu wan er, it competes with the more expensive ones and its 20 dollars (Or moondrop chu 2 if thats too much for you to spend), with that and an ORIGINAL Apple dongle, you will have pretty much the best sound quality posible. Then just enjoy. If you spend 250 on airpods, 30 is nothing for 90% of the best sound quality you can get in the world

Your problem was buying “gaming” headsets. And not regular headphones, also anyone claiming their IEMS sound better then HD800 or other top tier headphones are flat out lying, iems actually aren’t better then headphones, because the sound doesn’t travel across the pinna part of your ear, therefore it won’t replicate the sound the way your body naturally hears live sound. Headphones aren’t exact in this way either but do bounce sound through the pinna and create a more accurate replication then iems.

Bluetooth also doesn’t “distord” audio it compresses it, most humans will if at all barely notice the compression and newer bluetooth standards are getting really good at eliminating most if not all of the compression

Apart from stuff already mentioned in other comments, there are also various accessories to convert IEMs to bluetooth, Both linked or individual styles. They will always end up more... Chonky than airpods and such with worse active noise cancelling, but much much better quality.

IEMs are not new. I just got into them around 2 years ago. They absolutely thrash and TWS you can throw at them for 1/2 the cost if not less. Just make sure you do research to make sure it will sound how you like it

Not true. Earbuds are not IEM. IEM are designed to insert deeper into the ear canal in order to isolate playback and reject external noise. IEMs have been in use by professional musicians for many years. (source: I have been in professional audio for music for 25 years)

Why- why not just buy some Sony 1000XM4’s? They have good bass, good battery life, good sound cancellation and they also practically dropped in price because of the XM5’s release. so whether you buy the XM4’s or the MX5’s based on budget; at the end of the day, I can promise that you won’t be disappointed (in my opinion). By the way, whatever you do; when comparing ear buds to anything, *don’t compare them to airpods!* I’m serious, comparing any earbud to AirPods is like comparing a product that *actually* tried to be practical (depending on the brand) to a product that is designed to only satisfy you for only a year or two. Apple may have started popularizing Bluetooth earbuds but they failed at keeping up.

And plus IEMs still sound better than Sony headphones and earbuds, even the entry level cheap IEMs. And I have a pair of AirPods I’ve had for 3-4 years and they still hold up really well. And it wasn’t just Apple that popularized Bluetooth.

I had the AirPod pro’s (first gen) and hated them because the “transparency mode” was too damn loud even on lowest volume, the bass wasn’t that great, the battery life wasn’t very good and the sound cancellation was terrible in comparison to The Sony XM4’s. When I changed to the Sony XM4’s I never stopped using them ever since and they still hold up too.
