@@hons1055 I'm reminded of Cindy Crawford, who took her 154 IQ to Northwestern University to pursue a degree in chemical engineering before dropping out at age 18 to become a model. When you see how stunning Shivon Zilis is at age 35, presumably pregnant at the time and wearing little makeup, one wonders what this hockey goalie looked like at age 18, and whether or not she could have gone on to become a supermodel had she gone that route.

good job you two. i know this discussion is directed more toward undergraduate students who are thinking about this initiative as a possible career path. but, the more you can spread the word, or familiarize people generally, with the subject, the fewer roadblocks you'll have to deal with when it comes time to think about a broader implementation. just little pieces like talking about the introduction of proteins to deal with rejection issues etc. is very helpful. the better educated us casuals are, the more helpful we can be when it comes to talking with our friends and families about the topic in general.

You have to be slightly philosophical in a such futuristic environment where things she is talking about are yet to exist. I liked that she wasn’t hesitant and pretty confident in her speech. P.s. I’m also here after read news on Elon and her having babies. Elon is absolutely building an army because not all of the babies will be able to hold such a dynasty he is trying to make. It is possible through faith in GOD, if we dare release the faith we already have in our being by applying the powerful words of GOD as our point of contact. The gliosis problem (immunoresponse) problem still worries me, tbh. I'm worried that the protein coatings they want to put on the electrodes might just dissolve over time in the brain (where the spaces between cells are basically full of salt water, enzymes which dissolve things, electrolytes, and active cells that make and break connections with each other all the time). At the same time, if immunosuppressant drugs are required, those _will_ need to be re-administered, repeatedly, for the rest of the patient's life, which can open them up to infections and also puts a heavy financial strain on the patient, not to mention that if their insurance up and leaves them, the drug goes off the market, or Neuralink closes down, then the patient's life could be in jeopardy. I'm really hoping that it does not come down to either of these two things, and definitely not both, being required to keep these implants going over the course of the patient's life, and that simply placing the electrodes in ideal locations and using very fine wires with highly corrosion-resistant yet biocompatible materials is all that is needed at the end of the day, or this would serve no better than current standards for organ transplantation.

It was really an amazing and informative conference. Came across it after the Monkey Mind Pong video. I’m really excited about Neuralink and hopefully will work at Neuralink/BCI & AI related job in the future. Two of my many aspirations are AGI and Super Immersive Neural/BCI Virtual Reality (BCIVR) with all sensory stimulation of taste, touch, smell, true sight and true hearing (basically The Matrix level also known as Full Dive). Elon said in an interview that this could be possible for video games in 10-15 years at the earliest and similar timeframes by Shivon, Ray Kurzweil, Gabe Newell, etc., have been given so, the future seems to be super exciting indeed!

Are you in the right mind!? No statistics are provided, and the number of people actually damaged along the way not even shown... This is just a superficial show off to convince individuals who have zero scientific background that the evolution of the electric shock is actually positive. To date, numbers arw inflated and parameters of questionnaire presented to victims arw oftentimes biased enough to give anyone the creeps. Additionally, Before ending up offering such 'therapies' most of the time the patients' thyroid, allergies, and hormonal checks aren't carried out. Dietary intake, prescription drug intake not thoroughly checked. Wouldn't those individuals be better off doing these exams first? Doing this first might limit the number of patients convinced to become guinea pigs. I study Neuroscience myself, but human life is at the top of the priority to me. Before disseminating biased information on therapies that aren't even approved and that carry risk of brain damage people should think. Because what happens is having a part of the population with zero knowledge of risks involved become biased in favour of treatments they don't understand at all. I'd suggest you research the matter on PubMed, Cochrane library, Orchid, Frontiers... There's plenty of Reliable resources where numbers of participants are cited, methods, results and raw data are All there. Unbelievable, how easily the human mind of people can be manipulated when we don't actually know anything about a topic. (at least negative and positive studies are both there).

@@ot8479 Are you talking about BCI in general or something else? I am not being able to relate your reply to my comment. I was talking mostly about BCI (Neuralink & others that are way ahead of what’s available atm) in VR gaming and how it is an emerging field since Neurotech is at its infancy atm. I wasn’t talking about primitive BCI devices like Utah array or deep brain stimulation although those contributed massively to the patients and medical field especially Alzheimer’s. I am student studying Computer Science and BCI and I brought this up (BCI VR) because it has been a hot topic in the industry (Valve, Neuralink, FB, etc.) and talks in my university. Brain Computer Interface (BCI)is believed to be the future of interfaces (PC, mobile, everything but without any 2D screens and just Brain to Computer and Computer to Brain Connection) by the industrial giants and academia and that’s what got me into it. I don’t know what you are implying here as BCI VR with all sensory stimulation has not yet been developed and so not tests are done except primitive reading tests like the mind pong by Neuralink. Although I personally believe after attending talks and doing my own research about this emerging field that it is going to be extremely successful and not to mention that by the time it is developed the BCI devices might not be needed to surgically implant it in the brain. Optogenetics is a good example where there’s no surgery involved making it implant free. My point is that it is a brilliant field and I agree with the experts that it’s the future of interfaces and future of the medical field involving the brain and the nervous system.

Now having watched the whole video one question not answered, what about susceptibility to external electromagnetic fields, whether you're exposed to EMP or just have a bad habit of sleeping next to your phone charger, what is the danger of picking up external signals?

@@prometheus9096 I mean wireless charging 😜. I'm sure my skull isn't so thick that a magnetic field can't penetrate. Though I do have an old backup power supply that makes old CRT televisions wavey and flicker across the room! There are also induction stovetops , microwave based motion sensors , and many other more common sources of EMFs

Actually from what I’ve seen in Shivon’s interviews and talks, she is quite a very intelligent human being. Maybe Elon and her just want to make a super smart kid via in vitro fertilization and wants to produce a very intelligent human being. Considering billionaires of AI tech are open to all kinds of inventions. The new baby can take over the world because of his and her genes

I promised myself that I would avoid delving into these kinds of petty discussions about their sex lives, but I just couldn't pass this one up! If Elon MUsk passed up the opportunity to have penetrative sex with, and physically impregnate Shivon Zilis in lieu of in vitro fertilization, then he has been educated well beyond his capacity to understand the loving, caring, nature of the human condition. Mating is as close as you can get to being "one" with another human being, and perhaps with the universe itself. Anyone who would voluntarily pass up the opportunity to share that with a woman as beautiful as Shivon should be made to wear a tin foil hat in public for the rest of his life so everyone will know who he is and what he did!!
