Neuralink will be understood by the majority of Americans 2026, and relatively normal/accepted by 2031. It will be a part of everyday life for a significant number of regular Americans and a growing number of average people's lives across the world by 2036. I personally signed up for the "Prime" (neuralink) clinical trial but I cannot participate in the trial because I have wires internally implanted in my abdomen for an FES device that allows me to breathe (called diaphragmatic pacing system) and a fully implanted cough stimulation device. But it's thankfully really happening and it will drastically improve the lives of quadriplegics such as myself.

@@carultchIt's not beneficial to view this technology negatively; it requires time to evolve. The technology in question may only become feasible in 20 to 30 years, providing ample time for adoption. This is similar to the advent of the internet and computers; those who failed to adapt lost their jobs to individuals proficient with technology. Consequently, the number of jobs actually increased. Imagine if you no longer had to perform most laborious tasks and could concentrate solely on the outcomes-how much more could you accomplish? If this technology were developed for daily use, our rate of technological advancement could accelerate significantly. For instance, achievements projected for 50 years could potentially be realized in just 5 years, marking a substantial leap forward.

PLEASE DO NOT FALL INTO THIS TRAP, The plan is to drive humans using this kind of gadget in the interest of corporate revenue. Imagine this device transmitting signals in your brain causing you to feel what they want and when they want, For example they could make you fell want to eat a food of specific brand like for example "you feel to eat a dominos pizaa or MacD Burger" or "you feel to consume specific drink OR even do something". the plan is even beyon this, they want to control your decisions and your actions, in-shot you become their slaves, you will be driven by AI based softwares which will help corporates to generate high, targeted and predictable revenues, these softwares will also control voting results in elections for any nation. These gadget can even make you to go to an extent where you could harm or kill yourself or somebody else whom you even don't know or even don't have any reason. Testing this gadget on handicap patients would help this company to earn emotional support for their product and resist any backlash against their gadget and easily achieve their future aspirations. This is a Corporate Terrorism. PLEASE inform and educate everybody around you and DO NOT FALL INTO THIS TRAP.

One step closer to absolute mind control. When we are all connected to artificial intelligence, the updates will make the change so gradual that we won't even notice it. Large corporations are totally unscrupulous, and they have always tried to manipulate the world's population. Now they have an excellent tool for their purposes, which have already been planned well in advance. If you start using their technology on your body, you will end up having to accept all the changes they want to make to your software, in the future. You will end up being a product of them, and you will be an automaton.

@wallywest6580
@wallywest6580 Ай бұрын
I would certainly say that the first problem is many peoples main concern and will hopefully be addressed by musk and his team. I'm relatively sure they have addressed problems 2-4 though. And number 5 will be dependent on how many people decide to use the chip as well as what the chip is actually capable of ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@johnsmithy7918
@johnsmithy7918 Ай бұрын
@@wallywest6580 Well 2 and 3 has not been overcome because currently surgery is needed to insert/extract the implant. In order for billions of people to have this product you need something much easier. Feasible, well it might be relatively cheap already but costs ought to be near those of "ordinairy" brain surgery which is way too much for most so I'd say number 4 is not sufficiently resolved.

The Neuralink is very cool, but I have no doubt that future AR glasses like Orion will absolutely be the choice of the vast majority of people over some Neuralink device for the next decades, unless they can make a Neuralink that isn't invasive in the next decades and that also can make you see images that are indistinguishable from real life basically. For the foreseeable future, wearing a super-powered pair of glasses will be the way to go for a device that's basically going to be the new smartphone imo. And VR will be the way to go for when you want to be fully immersed in gaming and other experiences, which is the equivalent of the Switch or some other console or your gaming PC or Steam Deck. Chances are there will be plenty of hybrid MR devices that allow for both AR and MR at will, basically the Quest 3 but in a much smaller form factor. And maybe at some point way down the line a Neuralink type of device will finally be a genuine option for most people. But I think you're being way too optimistic and even somewhat naive if you think that's going to happen in say the next ten years or even 20 years or longer. Not just because the tech isn't as far along as some would believe, but just because getting some brain implant really won't be more normal than wearing basically a pair of glasses for AR for a long time, if ever, at least not beyond crazy places like LA or somewhere like that. But maybe in a hundred years we'll all be jacked into the Matrix, and that basically is the ultimate Neuralink at that point. The Matrix is a long way off though. That's my take anyway.

I loved this coverage - thanks a lot. I’d have to disagree with one of your last statements though. Meta’s Oculus Quest, being primarily a VR headset, has no intention of replacing phones. Once the software and other related hardware devices are improved upon, it will be replacing traditional gaming devices to create a more immersive experience. However, Meta has announced their Orion, which is a pair of glasses much more comfortable in a smaller form factor than other AR devices. This is more likely the near future, and then neuralink will come along after and augment it even further, or simply replace it completely. Great video though, thanks

The fact we’re already witnessing their early stages is wild, especially with concepts like longevity escape velocity suggesting that advancements in medical tech may allow us to live indefinitely. Regardless, it’ll be cool to see how this all pans out in society. I imagine while we see Neuralink develop their tech through medical practice, glasses/something similar will replace phones, enabling hands free and much more immersive experiences. Then after a while of that, BCIs will become available for the general public, throwing us into a whole new era of literally everything haha. It will be less rare by the early 30s but the reason I think it will take longer to become normal is because Lasic surgery is not as common place as I thought it would be and it was made available in circa 1992. I'm going to be more pessimistic but also (imo) significantly more logical and say that, if Neuralink ever does become normal, it won't be until 2070 or so. This technology has come a long way, but, to get to the point in which it becomes tempting/and or suggested for the average person, it will have to have the ability to do many more things than it currently can... In addition to that, the technology has a long way to go before we are able to implant it into millions upon millions of people's brains in a years time. I'm sorry to potentially hurt the feelings of some excited Neuralink fans, but anything earlier than 2050 is completely unrealistic and anything before 2070 (in terms of "normalcy") I think is optimistic.

I disagree about the AR evaluation. I am convinced that what will happen is that the glasses style AR will take off. The interface and UX will change how people use their computers. This will be especially true since the Meta Orion is using the mind reading wrist band. These devices will be easier to approve, build, and ship than neuralink. FDA approval for an elective surgery will take far more time than for medically beneficial surgeries. Customers will also be far more willing to adopt them since it is a relatively normal device. The new UX they will use will be very similar to neuralink, just much weaker. This fact will make the jump to neuralink easier for people. It'll also mean that companies will be able to build dual style apps that can operate in both systems since they can use a similar logic of field of view display and mental manipulation.

I am always wondering when we will have functional Nanobots injected in our body to repair , operate and enhance our biology , do you think we would even need to have a surgical chip in our brain , won't it be still relatively more easier , safer to enject millions of Nanobots into a human body througha syringe will would help our body's biology in every possible way , also it will be easier to update their software more easily Imagine in years around 2065 when Artificial Super Intelligence will be a common thing and then imagine this ASI to be personal health caretaker will manage all of the Nanobots to help our biology in the most efficient way possible potentially giving us more than just able to visually see all the wavelengths of electromagnetic spectrum , but that's something almost 40 years later thing , but if you were to ask me I would like to wait for 40 years rather tha implanting a physical chip into my brain by opening my skull no matter how good it could be until or unless it could help me to Escape an immediate deadly situation. THANK YOU

It's one thing to want people with paralysis to be able to walk again, it's another to be excited about the prospect of healthy people electing to get chipped in the brain so they can use technology with their heads. The latter sounds really creepy to me. I honestly hope it never becomes the norm.

Guys, take up neurobiology and genetics; if you manage to create materials for growing organ transplants, you will make billions in profits. Of course, Artificial Intelligence and robotics have prospects, but not like transplantation medicine and neurosurgery nanorobots.

It's crazy that people are still using primitive and crude devices like Utah arrays... I would be really surprised if Neuralinks still aren't commonplace in 2040! I think the fears and prejudices will quickly dissipate in just few years from now, because the applications for Neuralink will be truly amazing! The fears will be quickly replaced by excitement and even envy and jealousy for the access to abilities and apps which Neuralink patiens will have. By the way, I think that using BCIs to connect to the motor cortex for speech production is inefficient and highly limitted. Instead, we should connect BCIs to broca's and wernicke's areas of the brain, which deal with high level recognition, interpretation and production of speech. The AI on the BCIs can be trained (I have an idea about that) to translate activity in those areas directly into speech. That way, we can directly transmit words and concepts to computers, without needing us to imagine actually moving our mouth to pronounce those words.

I like your fractal profile picture. Let me know if you'd like to hear my theory about how I think I can explain God's omniscience (truly knowing everything that will happen) while human beings can simultaneously have free will/free choice and God is also still able to intervene in our present reality to cause miracles. The theory is based on fractals and the Mandelbrot set.

@@ConnoisseurOfExistence 100% agree about the place. If the right context existed, healthy pushback never hurt anybody😉 Regarding your comment about the Utah array, that thing seems almost barbaric, definitely creepy at a minimum. But it is amazing and frankly mind-blowing (no pun intended) to realize how many channels neuralink can handle versus the Utah array. I'm not eligible for the neuralink clinical trial despite being a quadriplegic, so I'm going to sign up the moment it is more widely available. How soon would you get one implanted?

This might work great for people who have lost their vision, but, people born blind or those who lost their vision very early in life, it won't work. Children born blind will need the implant before the age of 6 months for it to work.

The fear of the state or corporate interests being able to mess around inside your brain is a very valid and real one. However, with almost every human being addicted to and believing what they see and hear on their phones all day, the stable door was left open in the 1980's and the horse has already bolted. The state and big business is already fully in your head. This is just the next step in the process. With the parallel rapid development of complex materials which can sense various things including pressure, temperature and magnetic fields, plus other synthetic materials that can efficiently simulate muscle activity, bone, cartilage as well as full on organs like hearts and kidneys, fields associated initially with prosthetics but later robotics, the Neuralink technology will soon fuse with rapidly evolving AI to produce fully functional androids which will either serve as vessels to house our human brains and prolong our conscious life spans or even operate as fully conscious autonomous cyber beings co-existing with us. This evolution is incremental, global and essentially unstoppable. It was always going to be our future.

2055 neuralink will be "normal". I figure it took cell phones 30 years to be normal, so early adopters of neuralink start in 2025 and we go from there.
