IXION is new city building game in a space station - this means great scarcity in space, resources, and opportunities to grow your population. This also means that IXION is a pretty hard game. YOU MIGHT DIE.

I like the mix of survival elements, exploration, and city building with just enough management minutiae to keep my engineer/economist brain occupied with details. The story is interesting and it is a nice addition to this style of game.

Problem is, it's 100% scripted, so when you fail (and you WILL fail), it's gets more and more boring each time you retry. And a slight error or mistake can destroy your ship without hope of recovery.

The last point is one that I found out right after I made the video. I had to go way back on my saves to find a point where I was way down a failing road. There is no hope at a certain point and it is not a fun feeling. I have started to sour a bit since I failed and had to redo a huge portion. I still think it is worth trying, but I may not end up finishing it.

The rightmost bar of your probe tell you if it’s the main quest object or not. You can find the space station in first try if you just pay attention to the tutorial. That said, this game is full of flaws…

Yeah, it really is, the more I play it. I caught on to the rightmost column eventually, it was more that I had to sit and wait for the events to play out with nothing else to do
