I'm actually writing a FF7 x RWBY crossover which is basically the events of both series happening simultaneously, while combining some major plot points: Salem is secretly Jenova, Beacon is destroyed by being dropped on Sector 7, Miqo'te and Faunus are the same, and Shinra & Schnee Companies are trying to buy each other out. Also, Rufus and Roman are brothers I dunno WHY Rooster Teeth chose DC Comics

One thing I could say positively at this upcoming official crossover is that I do like how at least half of Team RWBY look like in their classic outfits again, now with their updated appearance. I'm really curious to see what Yang, Blake and the rest of Team JNPR including Pyrrha will look like in that official crossover. I do wonder if there are fanartists with CGI fanarts of Team RWBY, JNPR, CFVY and other RWBY characters using the updated animation and models similarly to Volume 4 and onwards, while retaining their classic outfits and appearances since Volume 1 to 3.

I see it more as Valve uses half life as tech milestone showcase. 1st one was for the engine, 2nd one was for physics and new graphics, 3rd one aka alyx is VR based overhaul for full fledged fps game. Not sure what 4th installement will be, but if i manage to survive another 15-20 years ill know

Well in the case of Half Life they should've at least ended the story. But I never understood the need for a Portal 3. I think it ended perfectly well in 2. Continuing beyond that is unnecessary

No... they're not. Look I think this crossover is an awful idea, especially since they're needlessly turning Supes and Batsy into teens...because reasons? However, crossovers are normally fanservice, fun ideas that the creators had that they wanted to collab on, or both. Do some crossovers happen purely to generate some kind of hype? Yeah, of course. Is that the case in this instance? Oh, most definitely. But crossovers shouldn't be a defaulted view that they're struggling. Most crossovers are done out of pure fun. Avengers' vs Godzilla. The Simpsons x Family Guy. Kingdom Hearts happened from two reps of Disney and Square Enix riding the elevator together and tossed around a couple ideas.

It's poor world building when you have to create an entirely different mini-series just to explain how things do what they do just because you couldn't explain it in the actual show. Also they cater to the viewers' demand in how some developments go, Yang and Blake for instance.

One of the main problems is power scaling. They have to nerf these characters so much in order to actually make sense since RWBY is already so inconsistent (more than any franchise I've ever seen). Not to mention the fact that DC also suffers from it.

I think the biggest thing that confounds me is why they went with the Justice League of all characters for their DC crossover, sure they may be the most recognizable, but the Teen Titans in most ANY iteration would be far more compatible. The only thing i'm even remotely looking forward to is seeing some old classic scenes rendered with current RWBY designs, hoping for Cinder and Torchwick.

Gave up on rwby on volume 5. To me the best volumes are the first 3 and the true ending for me is the end to volume 3 with the fall of beacon. From there every thing has gone down hill.

I have mixed feelings on the matter. 1: I like crossovers, but I know if the crossover is ASS. 2: I dropped out of RWBY a while ago, but do wanna hop back on, but not sure. 3: in JLU, Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and Green Lantern got turned into kids. So, turning them into teens is not all that drastic to me. But, for crying out loud, Qrow is an adult! 4: they better not have Bats and Supes' personalities revert a couple of ages. They kept their same adult age mentality when they were kids, so they can definitely have an adult mentality as teenagers.

This wouldn't be so bad after all, if they had already given us vol 9 or some advertisement, now while I hate what the shows done with characters like Ironwood, Adam, Qrow, and Raven, i'd still like to see where it goes just in case it gets better ya know? It still kills me with laughter that RWBY volume 9 continues to get delayed because RT keeps getting distracted, not by other ips, but by more RWBY. It's almost as if they know they've run out of ideas and are just trying to get people to forget about volume 8 so that volume 9 has a semblance (lol) of a chance not to flop.

We've seen in Cross Tag Battle that RWBY can be a great show to make crossovers with, even if the overall plot is not that good. We've seen in DCU, independant DC movies (I still don't know if Joker and Batman coexist with the rest of the DCU) and the videogames that the Justice League is also capable of great storytelling, and even crossovers if we count Injustice series. Hey, there are some comics with bizarre yet legendary crossovers, just like Batman and the TMNT. HOWEVER, we've also seen that any other product of these franchises is WAY better than the current management that either Rooster Teeth or DC Comics is giving to them. So the mere idea than two currently bad companies with beloved franchises are merging in a crossover... Now that's a tragic comedy.
