If you really can't afford to hire two people instead of one then it makes sense to hire for diversity, but Ubisoft not only can afford to hire more skill, they simply have to if they intend to stay afloat. If you really REALLY can't afford to hire multiple people then the best applicant you have should never be turned down just because they're white. It makes no sense. If you can only afford to hire one person then obviously you need that person to kick ass or else you're hosed, so rejecting the best applicant makes no sense. The dude is the "monetization director" which means he's not a real game dev. He's the guy who shoves microtransactions into everything. Probably the guy who came up with the idea to charge 30 dollars for 4 extra quests that they cut from the 70-dollar version.

Hell I remember when EA made great games! Battlefield 1942 they actually allowed player mods on EA servers back then because it was player friendly. It never lasts they always find ways to make games less consumer friendly for the $ and this is what happens. Killed by their own greed; nobody should be sad about that.

Unless it is for satirical purposes, politics shouldn’t be in games. I don’t want to play a game that forces political views from either side, even if I agree with the perspective. Because politics are a divisive issue, it will tick off enough people to make it problematic.

It's funny that they say it's a 'vocal minority' that express themselves on social media, then when their games failed in sales, they starts to blame all gamers. It's a simple sales and demand thing in business, and they they still want to force their agenda and thinks gamers should just accept it as it is. We're not living in 80s FFS. We got so many choices in games now, so if they can't do a simple things as attracting customers, they don't have any right to gamer's money.
@ElliotKeaton12 сағат бұрын
In the 80s consumers just stopped buying games altogether because the market was saturated with trash. It's what caused the crash. It's why Nintendo's 'Rule of Five' was so crucial in restoring the industry. Publishers could only release five games on their console per year (in an era when you could make that many in a month) so they'd better make them count.

Some time ago there were some theories about all this being done on purpose Like forcing them to make stuff that they knew its going to be bad for the games and the companies, hitting them heavily over time and when their value was too low, big companies like tencent would just buy them really cheap If all this continues, every single company will be owned by just a couple of super rich groups

There is something odd about these developers. These new age developers and their attitude towards the industry. Its almost like they don't understand the way the industry works. You create a product and the public responds. There is very little malice behind a lot of people when they ignore your product. Its like these people were never told "no" in their entire life and are unable to react or somehow believe that no one wants everything. When they were kids they probably thought that businesses were upheld by passions, thoughts, and just nothing else when a business needs money to survive. Hence the purpose of a company to create goods and services. That they sell to us. Otherwise they have no point and way to exist.
