I’ve been thinking I need to list all my old cards. Glad Gary did this interview. Sounds like Mascot will do very well.

I love marvel cards vintage and modern, the most slept on Category in the card world. Most cards are Original art, buy great artists. And when the product releases the artists get to sell their original form of the art and the preliminary. So many aspects to the marvel card sector.

Kudos... more power to the artists, specially in these times.

Loved the challenge at the end.. And the fact of enjoying kind of antique, vintage stuff... I know many shows are/were mostly scripted, but love those TV shows about hunting antiques, old toys and furniture, etc...

@@BenTheElderOne Well.. that is an *AMAZING* activity. I'd love to do that, but I can't follow _all_ my passions (I am just an artist), not enough time :D . Look, those TV shows (about finding collectibles, flipping stuff, or that other one about repairing antiques, or the pawn shop one, etc) which I mentioned were watched by tons of people. Folks are nostalgic, like collectibles, it's a human feature. Even while most people are aware most of those shows are scripted/fake (one big advantage for you, you don't need to fake anything, and authenticity is a current strong value in social media). I'm certain there's a lot of potential there. And you could plant nice affiliate links in the _description_ once you gained some traction (or even at the beginning, if you think it is something people would have a strong interest on buying; those Amazon affiliates could bring some cash), as it is a type of audience that is into actually buying such things. Get a nice camera (nothing fancy, just able to record at least 1 hour video, tho 15 mins to 30 mins videos is quite ok, and people like to watch as well shorts and 5 minutes videos for useful tips: IMO variety in length is good), or, even, just an iPhone (they all have good cameras) or a medium/high Samsung Galaxy (or similar brand, but those often get good cameras). And record the stuff you have, with your voice over it, explaining all characteristics and history/story of each card or collectible. Do it ENJOYING it, as I am guessing you like all that. Passion is contagious: people will feel that. No need to force it, just be you :) . You know _a lot_ about that, and you love it. Just show that! :) If you are camera-shy, you don't even need to show your face, IMO, and still will get traffic. In the others side, if you are an extrovert, used to talk to people in the shop, and have passable diction (that people can understand you. If not, try to improve a little so that people can follow) you will get traffic. It's a *very* solid niche. Anyway, nobody starts with a perfect "everything", but the opposite. I have reviewed the first videos of almost every top star of today's KZbin (many actually as I am here since it all started), and is cringy AF, those were pretty bad. If they could do starting sooo badly, so can you in any case. :) If it is the technical side what you think it stops you, I guess any family member/friend will show you how to upload a video to KZbin, and how to do super basic editing of videos (don't really need more. Even can do without editing! ). NO FEAR. :)

not sure if you will see this gary or maybe the veefriends team, but something i think would be SUPER cool would be for veefriends to work with a grading company and make special Graded cases for the veefriend cards , so we know how we got your normal psa , bgs , CGC cards, what if on the card There was like a built in boarder or screen or something that displayed like a very small anime or scene of the actual card character, so like the Lucky black cat card, like a micro screen beside maybe the grade showing that cat jumping or playing with a ball of yarn, almost like a micro gigapet nanopet screen just a idea or what about a way for graded cards to have built in multi color mini Led''s just something done that would make displaying cards THAT much more cool, idk its a VERY raw not well put together idea. that would be pretty awesome

Probably a side effect of the NFT/crypto global debacle. But whenever hoping on a wave or tech to dominate, people should be aware, checking many sources, and be careful . Most aren't, and so end up discarding or even bullying those who preached on it. It's not black or white... So, folks will keep making wrong decisions and looking for someone to blame instead of their own criteria and actions (no one needs any guru to make money, though, just work and contrasting info from many sources).

No, people hate banal influencers with zombie followers who wreck hobbies who then proceed to go scam people with NFT garbage. Gary is a man who talks a lot, but honestly says very little.
