Conversion is the keyword. Every page with information about a service or a product should be built as a landing page/ funnel. If your website is your business, then make it possible to actually book,buy or get a free quote. So many people have pages that are a waste of bytes to a point that it makes sense that Google needs to show AI. Don’t just make a page for the sake of it. Even if you build out micro or macro topical clusters, make sure each page is part of your funnel.

I have a website that offers web design, maintenance and SEO but I want to pivot to focus on mostly SEO and maybe eventually Paid ads. Should I start a new website that’s niched down to these services or change the content of the current site? The Current site’s content and portfolio is largely focussed on web design and there’s very little off page seo invested so far. Site is less than two years old.

Some SEO experts now claim that due to the fact that AI is having the answers for everything, Google as a search engine becomes more irrelevant. And yes, maybe to a certain point. Especially when it comes to things like Q&A:s. However, people still need to buy things and services and THAT can AI not offer. SEO will therefor still be relevant for regular businesses.

I'd say focus on one skillset which is SEO for Google now, then apply the basic principles to other channels after you master Google SEO.
