Amazing that one of the most impressive AR technologies isn't the product with the most features. The simplicity of rendering in monochrome, yet the surprise and delight of understanding the person you are talking to!?! That's a genuinely outstanding experience... the technology fades away, and you interact with another person on a level you couldn't have before. Magical!

Thanks for the shoutout, Ty! It was a blast sharing the CES experience with you! I've noticed that other glasses offered an interface similar to Rokid... e.g. Lawk had a similar display and functionalities. The cool thing about Rokid is that it was really lightweight and thin

In all honesty, they should just do what Xreal Beem Pro did. Have a phone with formiddable specs, then AR glasses that projects everything in spatial form. If Apple Vision Pro requires a power bank, AR glasses can just have the "phone" be the power bank and the one where specs should be relied on for the most part.

4K 70°fov wireless, oled display and i will buy an ar glass. I hope Xreal can do this in few years, but hope Samsung can do it too.

I'm very interested in glasses that can do things like provide live translations. That would be such a necessity while traveling, BUT I'd really need them to have color rather than monochrome, 6DOF, and a much larger FOV (much closer to 100 degrees, if not more) while using cameras to also provide translations of signs, menus, ect. One day, hopefully in the near future. I'd be far more likely to travel more confidently.

Quest 3 it is then... The fov can't get much higher on these types of glasses without them being further away from your face sadly

Not sure about the basic green text on the screen.... has potential for some uses but don't think I'd use it enough or at all for it to be necessary. True AR glasses w a stylish form factor are still the only logical step forward imo.

Why have we still got basic birdbath AR glasses when company's like ANT Reality have already invented the full on AR flat lenses we want 2 years ago.
@deluge647918 сағат бұрын
If those were possible with our current battery tech and could be produced for less than $1000, they would already be pushed to market.
@Thezuule115 сағат бұрын
Because inventing something and it being practical for mass production at a reasonable cost are two different things. Meta also invented a 210 degree FOV VR headset. You also won't see anything like that for a decade or so.

@4:42 We need more details about the battery life per charge, if it's below 8 hours it's no good, 12 would be ideal.

The translation part seems bad. Went from hot dog to burger and then it even says good dog? Might just be a software issue though.

I really need for the glasses technology to come together so we can use them as portable screens as well as AR+AI.

Great overview on the glasses. Did you try out the Roto VR chair? I'm curious what you thought of it. Did it feel responsive and safe enough to use?
@deluge647918 сағат бұрын
Just buy an office chair and have your wife spin you back and forth. It's cheaper
@OverbiteGames14 сағат бұрын
@@deluge6479No need and it would be much less delayed, but still delayed. Just spin yourself.

Will the final product have a cable? And what is that cable tethered too? Battery or compute ? (Or both)

The Rokid glasses are near perfect for having translation, navigation and the common basic use features. Do they have notifications and a way to view texts? That along with voice communication with AI and speakers for hearing AI responses and such. Very interested to try these

Good introductory review, but OMG Translation is so slow! Each word took nearly 2 seconds to appear - just as slow as the RayNeo X2's. Not quite fast enough to follow a K-Drama, but I guess they're making some progress...

Pretty cool with the language translator. I think there are better devices for this kind of thing. and the other devices will talk back in their language. How does the price compare to the Meta glasses???? Still would not invest my money in these devices, being a not needed item. Have better devices for this kind of thing.

How can people continue to call these "Augmented Reality" glasses when they are 100% not. Hololens, Meta Orion, and whatever Samsung and Google are cooking up are the only ones in existence.
