V said during Jimin's live on VLive that he wrote this song in February while they were in London touring. He was inspired by watching a British movie on Netflix called "About Time" which is a romantic comedy-drama. I believe he said it was the scene where the male lead proposes and the female character had been sleeping peacefully, I haven't seen the movie yet myself. The song sounds like a lullaby almost to me. But V's dad when he was little called him "baby bear" and his mom called him "honey bear" and V was born in December. This might not have any baring on the subject of the song but still is interesting.

A lot of people (including me) believe that "Winter Bear" might be a sort of final goodbye to his deceased grandmother. Hence the repetition of the words "sleep" and "goodnight". "Sleep like a winter bear" most likely refers to hibernation - but in the context of this song and its writer/producer (V), the hibernation in question might be one so peaceful that the person hibernating (V's grandmother) wouldn't have a reason to end it. It seems like V is making peace with the fact that this is a hibernation from which one cannot wake up. But instead of being upset, he's happy because his grandmother is resting peacefully (take note of V's words: "You sleep so happily"). This could explain his change of facial expressions: He had a reflective expression on his face at the beginning, with the colour balance of the video being almost fully grey. However, as the video progresses, You'll notice a smile appears on his face as the video, while still grey-ish, becomes much more vibrant - possibly indicating V making peace with his grandmother's departure, while the memories he has of her make him smile. The dog V showed on his phone is his dog, Yeontan, back home in South Korea. Showing Yeontan, who is not currently with V at that point in the video, shows that V misses Yeontan. This could be V's way of saying that he also misses his grandmother, who is also not with him in the video. It's a beautiful song, in my opinion. It actually made me cry.😊✨💜 Sorry for the long comment.😅💜

I’m so happy that you guys decide to support a charity. My favourite is world vision and Doctors Without Borders. You can sponsor a child for ~$39.9 a month and they send u updates how the child is doing. WV will be teaching them skills that will allow them to sustain and support their families in the long term.

I love both charities! If you include more charities would for you to consider environmental organizations like NRDC, it’s a great org! (and The Amazon, the earth’s lungs (generates 20% of earth’s oxygen) has been on fire for 2+weeks due to deforestation. Re: Winter Bear is actually all in English. For me, Winter Bear is like a poem. The blue macaw parrot is extinct bird in the wild. The winter bear does not go away but hibernates and sleeps happily in winter....”Imagine your face, Say hello to me, Then all the bad days, they're nothing to me, With you”. For me this song represents: those we love and lose do not ever actually leave us, they remain forever in our memories 💕😭✨🥰 Some ARMY interpret the song about his grandmother who passed away, she is the blue parrot, V is the winter bear (Tae is Born in December, and his parents called him honey bear/baby bear). V also mentioned a sweet romantic scene from the movie “About Time” inspired the song as well. In the film, the protagonist can time travel so he tries to change his past to improve his future. (also notice he’s walking backwards “rewinding time”, then forwards again at the end.)

I think it’s amazing that you guys want to donate long term to a charity. I think both choices are good choices. Mental health is very important and as someone who struggles with anxiety/ social anxiety, I think it’s important that there’s awareness regarding mental health. It’s also important we help those that are not as privileged with even the smallest amounts. Thank you for the reaction, by the way Winter Bear was entirely in English and was inspired by a movie Tae saw in England. I can’t recall the name of it at the moment.

Also, I was hoping you would google winter bear lyrics at the end of the video because then you would have realised they were English lyrics lol. V’s song Winter Bear was inspired by the movie About Time... ( a love story about a man with the ability to time travel who tries to change his past in hopes of improving his future. But comes to realize that it is better to live each day once, and appreciate life with his family as if he is living it for the second time. ). The starting- "She looks like a blue parrot" is used for his grandmother, who died in 2016. Blue parrot is extinct now i think. yes Bear, Baby bear, winter bear are his nicknames, winter bear hibernates the longest.
