In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

"Water is always local" + an organic, larger systemic approach to solving such issues locally. Spot on, Mark!

I believe the future of safe water is bright if enough support is given to scientists especially in the developing world to solve their problem locally.

Thank you for the decent description of the speaker and his topic, something sadly missing with most other TEDx uploads and also for the decent audio quality. TED should really insist on some decent AQLs for audio recording quality.

Water should be desolinasatied everywhere where's is not available and brine should be stored on land in big ponds for future use. Rivers at the ocean's entries pump back to land, otherwise water is lost.! Billins of peoples in China getting water in huge irrigation channels. All we need is will and money
