Yeah freaked me out too. I bailed on the drops, but now i see they have added that wooden bit at the bottom of the last drop.

@@thesingletracksurfer Hey 20yr ago when My mate built the Foes I just retired... we went to Rotorua for a college National he was in. Somewhere on one of the tracks there was a flat left hand into a step then into a big bowl. Any idea from that description where that was, and if it still exists... He forgot where he was and pumped out over the step and landed on the right side of the bowl like a pro.. (completely unintentional but thrilled the crowd). There was a granny line round the left that dropped to the level of the step and then you just rode down the bowl (usually collecting one of the trees at the bottom) q8)

@@thesingletracksurfer Ut was in the Forrest mill area but after 20 yrs it's probably been logged and long changed structure. Man there's a lot of great tracks there... all I need is an endless helicopter ticket...

1:39 yeah thats fairly much what I was thinking watching some of your runs... (and here's hoping theres someone thinking that about my videos... maybe a 1 armed paper hanger) Jumping is my kryptonite at the mo... I REALLY can't do doubles.... nearly nose dived the big hollow on the Rollercoaster Wellington on Sunday... No matter how I load the bike it just soaks tabletops and I end up landing on the top... I don't want to stiffen the suspension as I want to learn on the settings I run with... Sigh

Yea some of those jumps/doubles on Rollercoaster are a bit funky....not so much the jumps themselves more the sharpish corners directly after🤣 I just cant train my brain to commit to them without 'self preservation mode' over-riding 🤔

@@thesingletracksurfer I put in a lazy video on the sweeper into the ditch at the top... then last weekend nearly nose planted in the big hollow (so finished that video with it... not much to see but oddly the closest I've come to falling off the the 'new' bike. (Only 1 real close inspection of the terrain this year and that was an old hard tail on the lower starfish last drop)

@@thesingletracksurfer Yeh.. After years on trailbikes wher you use the throttle to mold your jump and have so much control over the entry, exit and even dive/lift while in the air... Seems I'm just along for the ride on the MTB... i really need to find a nice single tabletop in Welly with no lead in rise to screw with my head like the jump park at Makara does... I had a run a couple of weeks ago and got progressively worse until I was lifting and tipping over like a newbie... sigh. That Self Preservation mode is just getting worse after 50.. I have considered armoring up a bit (body armor and I found hockey shinpads on the forearms on the trailbikes worked a treat for the odd meeting with Terra firma... but thats a bit of a catch 22... usually only the people that actually know what they are up to, armor up. Maybe I find a peak for my ol troy lee full face helmet too. q8D

@@TheButlerNZ maybe try one of the local BMX tracks around the city. Capital City BMX @ Ian Galloway Park has some good jumps as does Wainui and Upper Hutt both on slightly smaller scale. There is a small jump line at the bottom of Weta @ Belmont thats easily session-able.

@@thesingletracksurfer I used to ride Karori on my chopper... q8) I saw a vid on the Stratton St Belmont park, Weta looks like a good double for the day... Hmmm bet its raining this weekend...
