Thanks for the video - watched the whole thing! I live in a city in Canada (Waterloo Region) that is getting a light rail system, built by many of the same system partners that built your system at Gold Coast. It's due to be operational in 2017. This was a great preview of what our system might look like!

Is there a rail line that runs from brisbane airport and goes all the way down the gold coast? Not sure if the G. is going to meet where this other Light rail line from Brisbane come down?

There is the Gold Coast railway, and trains do run from Brisbane Airport through Brisbane and onto the Gold Coast, but the railway is in the 'Hinterland' and not near the coast. The new tram line doesn't connect with the railway. There is a plan to connect the tram to Helensvale railway station as it's not all that far from the northern terminus but there is no money. The Gold Coast (Coolangatta) airport is quite some way south of the end of the tramway and extending that far will be VERY expensive.

Welll I would think if the G. work and pays for it self maybe they should think of the next extension to get it to Hinterland. Just so it seem like it is connected and people can got to more places. If the airport is too far out then maybe in ten to twenty years they could get the G. to the airport.

Yes there is. It leaves the Brisbane airports to the Gold Coast.

Extending the line to the airport would mean new trams. The new trams would have to have luggage racks.

If you goto the hospital and University tram station there is a hole thats not finished with a fence across it. It must look like it's going to get extended.

Sean Zappulla GCCC (gold coast city council) plans to extend it to Queensland Rail's Helensvale station, possible extensions to GC Intl. & Domestic Airport.
