You see... I like your music, but it always irks me when people misrepresent others and take cheap shots at them. Now, I don't think that you intend to misrepresent or take cheap shots, but you merely repeat this particular faulty criticism of SDA's that you heard from others without questioning whether it is accurate. I hope to set the record straight: SDA's don't believe the scapegoat bearing sin is expiatory. All that they claim is that Satan will bear the ultimate responsibility for all sin, being the ultimate cause of sin. This is not necessary for the forgiveness of sins, but it is necessary to mete out justice against Satan. Now we can quibble about whether the fact that Satan being held responsible as the ultimate cause of sin is typified in the scapegoat ceremony or whether this ceremony too is meant to represent Christ (which would be unusual since there is no spilling of blood involved which is necessary for the forgiveness of sins, which is why Jesus is typically represented as the lamb slain, not the goat starved), but we should recognize that Christians have taken both sides on this issue. It is just a matter of interpretation. What cannot be denied however, is that Satan is going to be held responsible for all sin, and that is exactly what SDA's believe the scapegoat ceremony represents. The suggestion that SDA's believe or teach that Satan is somehow contributing to Christ's atoning work is slanderous and false.
