What the 1rst guy said. It's a ford. Please whatever you do. Don't cut the tear drop. If anything, cut it out, use dzus fasteners and flush mount it. If the edges don't turn out good. You could use vinyl pinch molding to make it neat. You can even paint the vinyl by using bulldog spray adhesive and vinyl paint or mix the color of the car as is now and use a fair amount of flex agent as us old guys know it as 😆. Just a suggestion bud. I love that car.

Hey Bobby, we all know the frustration when things don't go as planned...you just showed us how it really happens...not like on the TV shows where everything just magically falls right into place...it normally doesn't happen that way in the real world...I think the throttle cable is the best option for that setup also.

Are there any risers you can put under the carbs to fit the lower part of the linkage?

Well if I do I start running into issues with the hood. It already just barely clears with a breather now.

Yes your engine ia still a ford engine. It is a FE even if it is all aftermarket.
