We went after the gale to Lake Huron it was excellent!!! One of the best days ever we came home with excellent finds! We were the only people on the sand bar from the gale in the lake. No heavy winds and sunshine just a great day for December 😊

Awesome finds man! Love the agates, jasper and sea glass, well done. Granite always throws me off, mistaking it for other cool rocks, i love the feldspar in it! Nice chert with quartz. Beautiful view of the waves crashing on the shore. Great day.

Crazy how the rocks are so different and stunning from such a short distance as the crow flies! I agree with you, really enjoy those pieces, especially with the feldspar!

Looks like you had a great day of hunting - it's always good to try out new places! I couldn't help but laugh at what you said about being "spoiled" by the agate hunting in Minnesota. I hunt Michigan's U.P. beaches for agates and almost always find a decent number of them (all while picking up hundreds of pieces of quartz to be sure they are just that.....), but on our first trip to Minnesota's North Shore, I was amazed at how many agates there were for the picking. I commented then to my wife how I thought you folks were "spoiled"! HA! Thanks for posting your hunts - like many others, I'm stuck inside watching the snow come down and these videos really help me hang on until spring! (By the way, be sure to pick up all of those pieces of quartz and give them a good (if quick) look - I've found several REALLY nice shadow-banded fortification agates that I almost tossed or walked past assuming they were "just" quartz!)

Fred, thank you for the wonderful comment. I feel spoiled for sure, so if I ever get out of my comfort zone and hunt outside of Minnesota, I may be in for a wake up call! 😂 I will start to double check all my rocks I see on the beach too because I definitely do not pick them all up at times… WHOOPS! Thanks for watching!

Is that a Gordon Lightfoot reference or just a general Lake Superior reference?

It very much is! Great song and remembrance of how strong Lake Superior can be!
