Hello all of you music loving amazing people! Today I want to talk about the Galion TS A20 Amplifier all class A amplifier. I have had this here for close to four months and today I finally release my thoughts on this amplifier. The Galion A20 is a 20 watt per channel class A stereo amplifier. You will need to run it with preamp or a volume controlled DAC.
This amp is a special one as the price is lower than it should be, the parts are much higher quality that the norm and the sound is out of this world.
I tested it with a few preamps as well as several speakers over the length of my time with this amp and I talk about them all here. I hope you enjoy!
Enjoy!

I've heard the amplifier many times and love it! Such an amazing amplifier, worth the price and more!

That Galion logo/writing on the face of the amp is just so in your face. Not that it affects the sound but it is too big and cheapens the appeal of the unit.

This is a great little amplifier. Steve's review is spot on. My speakers are 91db sensitivity and 4ohm nominal load, This amp drove them nicely without getting too warm. Soundstage is wide. Gobs or details. I think the bass is the best I have heard with my speakers. This amp is definitely a winner!

Nice work with the deck there, lovely little property you have setup for yourself. The amps origin story alone should be enough to inform any potential buyer that this product is something truly special.

Nice review. Much appreciate your comparisons to other amps, but you didn’t say much about how it compares with the AGD Duet, which you love and are very familiar with. How do the two compare on detail, dynamics, “aliveness”, bass drive? Thanks

It looks better than TSA75, which looks a lot the DIY cases (Dissipante) from modushop in Italy. I was sourcing one for an amp I was planning to build.

I wish Thomas would make his amps w a mono option in addition to the stereo.

You weren't specific on how it performed with the only speaker that I am interested in. How does it sound with the Ogy. The Ogy is 92 dB/Watt Andy a bit light on the top end. It should pair well with this and a sub.

class A is too heavy, too hot. Instead I upgraded from my lovely Parasound 2125v2 to NAD c298 class D with the class leading Eigentakt module, 25 lbs and runs barely warm, every input-output u can think of. -- source =Apple Music lossless

How can an amp have a wide soundstage? Soundstage is developed in the recording and re-created by the speakers.
@jonathanvanier
@jonathanvanier 22 күн бұрын
Cuircuit topology, quality and precision of the parts: they have an impact on soundstage. Comparing amplifiers in the same system will readily show how they perform in this regard.
@YuengsNwings
@YuengsNwings 22 күн бұрын
What aspects of circuit topology and component selection affects the soundstage? A soundstage can’t be wider than the stereo image developed in the recording so an amplifier can only worsen it, not improve it. Poor imaging implies poor crosstalk which isn’t a problem in any amplifier that isn’t broken.

I don't recommend using with Magnepan speakers. The only amp out of my product line that I would say go for it, is the TS A75 for Magnepan.

I think you may want to get a better microphone, the audio is a bit sharp with the sibilance in your voice.
