All the amazing work these men did all those years ago…the skill, vision and determination to save their city. Awesome report.

It's just amazing how much they were able to do back then. This has become one of my favorite KZbin channels. I have visited Galveston 6 times (I'm from MN) and still haven't seen all that I want to see. Thank you for taking us exploring even more of the island. Your videos are wonderful!

We are happy that the sea level hasn't risen since the seawall was built. Just look at the old photos and compare to today.

The one picture that I’ve seen over and over all my life was the raising of the Hotel Galvez
@galvestonunscripted5 ай бұрын
The Galvez was built in 1911, just after/during the grade raising. So, not quite raised, just built on top of the new grade!

There are tons of these neglected mansions around the US owned by celebrities. Taylor Swift has one in Nashville. P Diddy has one in Woodlands Tx. Sylvester Stallone owns one in Maryland. Check it out.

ALSO, half a mile from along shoreline. We're better build NON CONTINUOUS SEA WAVE BREAKERS with LIFE SEA SHELLs, like oysters and clams, with zig zag placement to tame down beach erosion and clean the water

Good thought…could start a whole new industry there as well as protection.
