The main reason i like that Astro Bot won so many awards (deserved or not, that's up to the people who actually played the 5 nominated games), including the GotY, is the recognition that platformers, outside of Nintendo's own Super Mario series, aren't dead and are beloved by fans. Other publishers/devs should consider making them more often, or if they've never made one but have wanted to, then they need to give it a go.

Oh please, how many Wukong buyers QUIT? I was rooting for Black Myth because its actually a full game. Not DLC like Elden Ring. ER losing was all that mattered, but Astro Bot has the one thing that Souls & all its clones do not: FUN! You'll never hear of anyone quitting Astro Bot, due to it being frustrating on purpose & stuck in the 80s era of gaming.

The comments are a bit disappointing on this, not going to lie. I can tell a lot of people are unhappy about the award winners and stuff, but the beauty of things like this? You can just... ignore it. Balatro was my GOTY. I wanted Balatro to win it all. A lot of my friends wanted Black Myth: Wukong to win. And those can still be our games of the year. We can just go "ok congrats astrobot" and move on, you know? It's not like winning an arbitrary title matters for the game at all. At the end of the day, you're still going to love your favorite game, and that's awesome! The announcements were mostly cool, but going into these with unrealistic expectations never works well. You're not always going to get the games you specifically want, and that's fine. None of my favorite series got any sort of announcements in this. But I went in with an open mind, and there's a few games that actually look pretty cool on this. I just wish people tried to have a bit more of an open mind and realize that just because your favorite didn't win an award, doesn't mean it's a bad game. They all got recognized for a reason.

I disliked the video coz Stellar Blade wasn`t nominated for GOTY. Steller Blade in my eyes is my GOTY Why? They added an attractive looking character in the game, something that western developers refuse to do. This game has been receiving knockback by people that don`t like the game coz of the way Eve looks (which is bloody stupid) but despite that the game has been successful. Kim Hung Tae has done an amazing job with this game, him and the team has put so much effort into the game like the lip sick between the English and the Korean dub versions are completely different and remember, they didn`t have to do this. The developer`s wife worked as a concept artist on the game, a husband and wife working together on a videogame is cool. They have been giving out free DLCs. They have given us over 30 outfits, what other game does that? The fact they made a hack & slash game in my eyes (which has been in the decline for some years now) is amazing. This is their first time making a console game and for the most part it`s a success. They didn`t just make a boring souls-like, they mixed it up with hack & slash elements, bringing people they like those genres to their game which was very smart of them. For the most part, they listen to want the fans want/ask for. The fact that the developer said the back of the character is more important than the front. I was hoping if Stellar Blade won it would let the developers know what we want in videogames, it will encourage Shift Up to make more sick games like Stellar Blade, plus it could encourage developers start make make games like Stellar Blade (hack & slash) and replicate there practices, Shift Up winning GOTY could of been a plus for gamers. Also... You want a better dark fantasy alternative to dragon age veilguard? play a game called Soulstice. It`s a hack & slash game that takes inspirations from the anime Claymore and Berserk, you will see the inspirations strait away as soon as you see the main character and the boss designs. If you decide to play Soulstice I'd recommend that you watch Claymore and Berserk first just to get you hyped up to play the game, it`s cheaper and a much better hack & slash game than that crap.
