Astro Bot winning is significant for 2 reasons: 1. It tells Sony and the industry that there's still a demand for AAA 3D platformers. 2. It demonstrated that a bigger budget and development time doesn't guarantee success. This lower budget game that took a couple of years to make won GOTY while Concord, a game that took over half a decade and $400 million to make, is dead in a ditch after less than 2 weeks. Maybe Sony and the rest of the AAA industry will finally get the message and start making some lower budget games that AREN'T a live service.

yes this is true, higher budget doesn't mean better game, AAA game is not always the best, but when the game award have Black Myth win player choice and you have (voting jury (90%) and public fan voting (10%)) and the jury have almost nothing to do with gaming then you have to see that there is something wrong

This was one of the best game awards in a looong ass time, fantastic announcements, actually pointing out problems in the industry, not alot of cringe humour/moments and the right game won GOTY, my only gripes are that sonic got snubbed hard despite getting 9/10's across the board this year, the player choice award was an absolute embarrassment this year and we should be ashamed of it and that LOU needs to stop appearing (also not 100% sure about intergalactic, remember seeing a leaked story thing and unsure of the validity but we will see)

Either Act Boy is somehow entirely aloof about not only the industry he frequently and regularly critiques for his own direct profit, but he either doesn't know, or feigns ignorance of (*hint* this is likely the correct answer) ignorance of the people directly responsible for his most recent community-targeting grift. And really, it does hurt me to have to acknowledge this because I was a subscriber (before he tried his first badly planned, easily avoidable grift, an unbelievable second time) and I really, genuinely wanted to like him. I still do to some extent, but this guy... he's no better than all the other grifting and lying CEOs of the world, he's only less able and thus less successful than those running the companies drilling society dry for profit. He's just a bad person, and he's not good even good at hiding his shitty, soulless scumbag behavior. I get wanting to build your channel, your brand, rise through the ranks, all those synonyms for achieving success, but Act Boy has resorted so quickly to scummy tactics as to be relentlessly scummy, and he's done it in such a blatant and obvious way, in such a short amount of time, to be undeniable and entirely shameless. It's actually made me question whether there was some sort of shady, under the table Tencent $40k bonus for being particularly opaque about his relationship with them, especially when his "apology" video spent so much time disavowing the business model of engaging in fully sponsored content (unless he "really" likes the product he says, which, I mean... sounds tom e like he's just saying the silent part out loud, but then again his entire apology video read to me as a US corporate attorney as begrudging attempt to mitigate damage to his brand while simultaneously being fully cognizant that he must not at any point say anything remotely hinting to any of his previous undisclosed actions that may lead people to uncover any of his potentially complicit or culpable acts of fraud on his auidence or advertisers. Maybe time will tell. Personally I hope he's as dumb as I think he is because if he's not, then he's more evil than I thought he was.
