The toilet paper thing is because in Mexico the plumbing isn't the greatest in some areas, so they throw out the tp instead of flushing it.

One of the things I remember from my childhood and the kids of today more than likely will not experience is getting your mom to buy you a brand new game and then on the car ride home opening up the game and reading through the instructions looking at the pictures on the box manual and just getting so excited like you're already almost imagining what it's going to be like to play it in your head before you even get home and put it in the console for the first. Also similar experiences like this for the car rides home from Blockbuster on Friday nights when you got the game you were going to play that weekend.

Daaaamn. That Game Boy Color that they wanted $85 I found at a yard sale for $5 (in purple). The OG Game Boy they wanted $100 for I found at a thrift store a few years ago, before they realized video game systems were worth something, for $10 with the rechargeable battery pack! Though it didn't have the cord to plug the pack into the wall for recharging and I've never been able to find one. But I have a cord from an old DSLR camera that happens to have the same connector and it works lol. Glad I picked those up when I did! That day at the thrift store I also picked up an N64 with all cables and 4 controllers for $20. Haven't had a day that great since.

15:30 Fun fact: here in Brazil is normal to throw toilet paper in the bathroom's trash can. That's because our plumbing system is so old and bad that throwing toilet paper down the toilet would clog the pipes. Newer homes can flush toilet paper, but most can't. That leads to "funny" stories when Brazilians travel aboard, because we are so used to throwing toilet paper in the trash can that when we do that in somebody else's home, they get shocked 😂

Great episode! I also worked at Blockbuster, from 2001 to 2007. I still vividly remember that we had a store meeting the morning of September 12th, 2001. That was weird and actually pretty gross that the meeting was not cancelled. But I have a lot of fond memories working there. Being young and having fun surrounded by movies. Definitely the best job I've ever had even though the pay was bad. You guys should fly out to Bend, Oregon to visit the last Blockbuster. Who knows how much longer it will survive..
