Why didn't donald take the knight on the edge
@ivanjoldic826
@ivanjoldic826 21 күн бұрын
Fischer would have played Knf6 x e4 attacking both the white queen and white bishop on g5. The queen could not retreat to a square which enables the defense of that bishop. Then he would take whites knight which defends it`s bishop on g5 and then capture that bishop with his knight. at the end of the combination Fisher would have gained a very important pawn in the center and ruined the pawn structure of white on the king`s side. That is why Donald declined the sacrifice.
