No they don't. When Grandma married, a woman couldn't get a credit card or mortgage. Women could only work as secretaries, teachers, librarians, social workers and nurses. Most Black women without education worked as maids, nannies and field hands. A woman's social standing was connected to her husband's status. Women stayed in relationships that didn't benefit them for the sake of their -families- children because they didn't have many options. Women today are no longer willing to make those sacrifices. Whether that is a good thing or a bad thing is a matter of opinion.

With age comes wisdom and as I've gotten older I realized that I'm not particularly a jealous person but these days cheating can lead to death or severe illness and that's why me, personally cannot tolerate it because it's like feeding me a little bit of poison in my breakfast everyday. Also who decided that people can only love one person? I have more than one child and more than one sibling and I didn't have to choose just one to love forever. I'm not a polygamist or anything ( even though I fund nothing wrong with it if it's real and sincere) but I've just had plenty of time to reflect on the past and I just see things differently now.
