The Gamma is definitely not puffy. I got it in the same colourway as you, did a few sessions already and I gotta say the flick is amazing, the feel is amazing. This is my first Emerica shoe since the Brandon Westgate CC from 2017 and I gotta say, I really dig what they're doing, I should start getting more Emericas. The sole itself is medium thickness so it has medium impact protection, definitely nowhere near the Etnies Marana/Joslin or the eS Silo or Accel Plus. But the flick off that toe is just so precise, I really like it. It looks like it has several layers so I hope it'll last me a while before it blows out.

I 100% agree with this review. I can't stand the way the Gammas look but I can't stop wearing them because they're literally the most comfortable shoes I've ever had.

Personally think these shoes look great. Not puffy at all but plenty of protection. Looks good with shorts and straight / baggy pants. Bought three pairs while they were on sale for like $22 each. Only complaint, the shoelaces are pretty long and will definitely get ripped eventually and if you have a color like this dark orange pair I got good luck finding shoelaces that match😂

I get slight j2 low vibes. Got quite narrow feet but it should be ok. Use with skinny feet are used to wearing shoes that are technically too wide. We don't get options like fat foot folk. For 47 uk delivered I'll have a gamble not actually for skating life had other ideas for me. Had a stroke at 37. Still been super lucky tbqh. Still cycle well. Digression. Actually I don't have super narrow feet c I think so narrow the problem i have is I'm very lean. Skinny feet. Appreciate the review.

Cupsoles are the best for comfort and impact but you don’t get the boardfeel that comes with vulcs. Cupsoles take longer to break in but the vulcs I feel break in easier.

I highly agree with you. and I never noticed until I started doing these reviews. I honestly never paid attention, but I think I like how my flip tricks feel much better in vulcs.

Vulcs are basically plimsoles, if you’ve got no worry of ever hurting your feet and enough for a new pair twice as often then go for vulcs, yea loads of board feel, sometimes too much when they are worn and as far as thick soles go these Emerica aren’t really that much bigger so where’s the hardship wearing them in

Crucial content! Would you say anything about the fit? Do you feel like they're any bit narrow? My right foot is wider than my left so it makes finding a consistant size tricky.

Hey, so Im a size 9 id say they're true to size. they do fit snug, but not narrow like a janowski.

There's a new Emerica model that is coming out which looks a little bit more padded than this one, the KSL G6 (Kevin Spanky Long G6). I usually like shoes with better padding so I may get this one after the Gamma.

Yes, it's his new Pro shoe. Last one came out 3 years ago. See the Emerica spring 22 catalogue - soletechnology-catalogues.cld.bz/Emerica-SP22-Catalog And it's actually already available on the EU website - eu.emerica.com/collections/footwear/products/ksl-g6-black?variant=40993228193982 The upper seems little bit more padded than the Gamma, which is definitely welcome. Hopefully the midsole/outsole combination is also thicker as Emerica don't have a proper impact shoe right now and I think this may be it. The thread pattern on the bottom looks a little bit different than the Gamma so it's definitely a new sole.

@@fifthgear93 any Emerica shoe with a pour in G6 cupsole is made for taking impact. They have the Wino Slip Cup, KSL G6, a revamp of Figgy’s first shoe, and Julian Davidson’s G6 cupsole version of the Gamma. The OG Gamma doesn’t have a G6 midsole. The midsole is likely EVA based.

The Gamma G6 had a built-in G6 midsole. The regular gamma does not have it built in. The difference should feel pretty minimal especially if you have G6 insoles in your Gamma.
