I feel like this whole situation is really complicated. Because even if Eren tramples everything outside the walls, conflict isn't going to magically go away. We've seen before in the Uprising Arc(which had basically nothing to do with titans and outside threats and showed that conflict between people is inevitable) and the Great Titan War(where Eldians pretty much ruled the world but self destructed because they were too greedy and began fighting amongst themselves). Even if the Eldians rule over people or are the only ones left in the world, conflict is inevitable and unstoppable. And after some time, people will just begin fighting again. We saw hints of this last episode with some people being super on board with Eren and other people absolutely hating him because taking the walls down crushed some of his own people. And several clans are immune to the memory wipe and the control so Eren could never fully control the situation by wiping their memories. On the other hand, even if Connie and them do stop Eren, a majority of the Island supports Eren. So even if they save the world and potentially become heroes, their Island will consider them to be traitorous criminals and potentially drive them out or try to execute them. And most of the people have been pretty extreme(with a lot of them agreeing with Floch). So there's not really many options here. Man, imagine your only interaction with your childhood hero being in a jail cell where she coldly cuts you off, a brief conversation before battle, and an even briefer conversation as you're dying. Poor Louise. I wish she would've at least had one positive interaction with Mikasa after actually getting to meet her. Also, poor Hitch. That scene was really sad. Wish she wasn't left all alone.

It’s easy to piggy back off of someone else’s work and claim you could’ve written a better ending but why don’t those loud mouths go out and write an entire story from start to finish and let’s see how great it turns out. They just echo what other people say, and anime creators on KZbin are spouting out bullshit for the most part and nitpicking most things they personally view as “plot holes”. But I don’t agree with most of the problems people have with the ending. Notice how most people who claim they hate the ending don’t actually give a real reason all they say is “plot holes, horrible, terrible, 0/10” but they rarely ever state specifically what it is they have a problem with in detail. Majority of people who eventually watch the ending will love it, but the loudest people will be the ones who hate it. The message behind attack on titan is very realistic and not going to please some anime fans whom most are soft and can’t handle the truth of reality. They whine and moan about how Paradis island ends up getting destroyed anyway and that all that blood spilled and sacrifice was for nothing. They can’t comprehend the message behind that about humanity in real life and how realistic something like that happening would be. Look at Afghanistan months ago. The US military spent billions on a war against the Taliban and sacrificed thousands of lives for 20 years trying to create stability in Afghanistan and after pulling out and leaving Afghanistan to stand on its own, in just a few days, the Taliban took back complete control of Afghanistan and absolutely nothing changed. This is real life we’re talking about not some typical anime crap. Real lives were sacrificed, people were killed, bombed, raped, brutalized and tortured for 20 years in a pointless war and the same thing happened in Vietnam back in the 70s. This is the message behind attack on titans ending, humanity will always be a curse to itself and as long more than one man lives on this planet, there will always be war. To me this isn’t a typical manga/anime ending that anime viewers are used to seeing. They’re used to fluffy, sweet happy endings where all their favorite characters have a good ole happy ending. Isayama isn’t that writer and I’m sure as hell glad he isn’t because if he was one who cared too much about hurting his viewers, we would’ve never had such a a masterpiece like attack on Titan for this long.

I used to love this series and it was one of my top media I have read or seen after breaking bad. Then on Feb 2020 they released chap 126 . At first I thought this has to be a joke. Yams will pull it out together. As episodes went nothing made sense. When chap 130 and 131 cam out I was relieved thinking the story is still great. Then when last few chapters released I refused to believe he wrote it. Felt more like some sort of fanfic. Filled with asspulls and plot armor (way too much), cringey ass dialogues, illogical scenes. Eeren was reduced to an cucked incel in the last chapter. Now him saying "freedom" is a whole joke. He died achieving shit. Doomed his island, made all the deaths of the soldiers who gave life to protect him utterly meaningless in the end. Then alliance shits thanking him genocide. What the fuck was even that panel. Overall it was a disaster. In my book AOT ending worse than GOT ending. AOT was a romantic story all along.
