The pots are large enough! I’ve had a Meyer Lemon tree in the same pot (much smaller than those!) for over 15 yrs and it produces like crazy. The pot will limit how large the tree grows which is a good thing. Make sure they are fed often with organic CITRUS FERTILIZER. Has to be formulated for citrus. They are heavy feeders, fertilize every month and don’t let it go too long without water.

I believe the trees aren’t working because they need a bigger space. Trees have very long roots and like to stretch out. The pots are very pretty though! Maybe even try a bigger pot first? If that doesn’t work you may need to find a spot for them in the ground. Love the garden!
@NanaPelletier5 жыл бұрын
And I think I read that they need to be in pairs to cross pollinate?
@TheScarlett5 жыл бұрын
@@NanaPelletier it depends upon the species. Some fruit trees are self-pollinating. It is definitely not because they are in those containers; it Italy and France they grow fruit trees in containers of that size so that they can be transported into the greenhouse during the winter. The first thing I would do is determine the pollination needs of each tree. And I'm pretty sure those fruit trees are heavy feeders so they may require more fertilizing than is being given

Heather, first of all, thank you for letting us into your beautiful home. The problems you are having with your citrus trees could be one of several. They appear quite healthy and getting enough sun. That is likely not the issue. I have several citrus trees on our side yard so they don't get the full day sun but produce fruit. You didn't mention it in the video but how old are they and when did you plant them in those planters? It may take several years before these trees produce fruit. Several posters mention the planters and planting them in the ground and I agree you should but that isn't what is stopping the fruiting. If these are only a year or two old you may just need to wait longer. Good luck!

I had to laugh out loud when you pointed to the "tomatoes" LOL Heather, - everything needs a good feed - and some insects to pollinate. A bumble bee hive would be a good start - I don't know if you can buy them in the US :) The citrus just needs feeding and a good water. They can take a while to settle in. Perhaps their roots weren't teased out when they were planted so that might have made them "stagnate" for a year or two - but they look like they will come right.

How did you choose your architect, decorators, sources for furniture, etc.? Who was your general contractor? Do you think this house will ever be sold? This is life changing. I need a “pretty” fridge a “pantry” fridge now. Always wondered how celebs kept such perfectly neat fridges. Yes, they have hired help, but still.

I don’t have any gardening tips because I don’t garden, but I want one ! I seriously love every single spot in your home . I’ve seen a lot of homes , but this one is truly my dream home 😍😍😭🙌🏽❤️ Also , I served you and your family at California pizza kitchen at the Irvine spectrum years ago and you were all so sweet and genuine . 💕
