A clickbait title for a truly excellent tool. I always thought action hoes were pointless until I actually got one for myself. Now I realize how wonderful they are. They save my back! They save time! They are so easy to use, and I regret not having purchased one years ago.

Thank you!!! I seriously need this tool. That looks much easier than using the common hoe. You sold me on it during your demonstration.

Great video! So cool! My favorite vegetables are parsnips right now, but unfortunately I am not growing them (yet!). This tool seems like a great investment, I might have to buy one soon!

It seems that this hoe works nice and easy on very dry loose soil. In the UK the soil is mostly damp because it rains often. So would this hoe work on damp compacted soil as it looks wonderfully easy compared to my kneeling down weeding by hand for hours on end hours

Something interesting: This is gonna be my first year gardening My favorite vegetable: potatoes What I'm growing this year: silver choice sweet corn hybrid What I think of the action hoe: I'm skeptical, but intrigued. I have a large field I need to till in my yard for pumpkins and corn I'm excited to see if this is a good investment!

Skepticism is healthy! This isn't a tiller though, it's a hoe. If you're wanting to till a large field then you'll definitely need a different tool. Corn can be tricky. Have you looked into the "three sisters" method of growing corn, beans, and pumpkins? Happy gardening.

Hey Kristopher, amazingly helpful video as usual :) sort-of off topic question for you. I'm about to install raised beds, but have heard they make a great hideout for slugs... hiding under the ledges of wooden sides. Just wondering what you'd recommend to combat this? Keep up the good work!

when you cut the weeds, can you just leave them in the soil? wont they just grow back?

Good review, thanks. I don’t use an action hoe but on the market for one! I was wondering if it was worth it and after watching a few videos, it definitely seems like a good tool. How long does it take you to weed all your garden, by doing it twice weekly? Is the hoe always enough or if you skip a weeding and do it once a week as exemple, will the weeds be stronger than the hoe?! Or I guess it would pull the weeds but they could grow back because they wouldn’t die from being disturbed since they were larger/stronger? Last question, have you tried the rounded hoes? Same as yours but the blade is curved. Johnny seed’s says the rounded one is excellent for onions. I don’t really get the difference, aside from the fact that the rounded one is a bit smaller and maybe more precise but.. I don’t get why it works so much better on onions versus the straight-blade hoes.

Can you use those to remove lawn grass?

When you break the weeds, their roots are still there. With the first watering, they will grow back quickly. And since you will cut them again, the roots will become bigger and bigger. From what you show in the video, your are leaving the pieces of plants there. They will still grow and now you will have two weed plants. It would be much better if after watering you pull out the weeds one by one (with the roots). It will take the same time and the results will last longer. This hoe is meant to lift up compressed and dried soil (press the hoe at least 5cm into the ground), because the regular one would pull the soil with it. By not lifting up the soil, you are not letting any air in it, which would be beneficial for the plants.

Nah. The roots can’t continue to grow indefinitely without the leaves. Eventually the roots get starved of sunlight and die off. That’s how I finally got rid of bindweed. I just kept pulling every little bit as soon as it started to grow and eventually the whole thing died. You do have to be tenacious and regular about it though. This tool would have really helped if I had known about it. 😅
