So much for thinking that Within Temptation was the 1st band to mix a male grawling vocalist with a female clean singing vocalist on Within Temptation's 1st studio recording called Enter. The Gathering did this way before Within Temptation which I didn't know until very recently.

I remember when I was a teenager in Ireland, I was listening to Death Metal from Sweden and Flordia in 1992 when this album was released, at first I didn't know what to think of I because it was so different from Morbid Angel, Obituary, Dismember, Entombed etc,. But it quickly became my favourite album, I'm now 45 years old and "Always" is the one album that stirs so many emotions and memories of my teenage years, this album is the last thing I want to hear before I die...

The only album (of the same genre) that comes near to the album Always by the Gathering is the album Immense Intense Suspense by Phlebotomized. The 90`s also the decade of the underground death metal scene of Holland. With releases of, for example, Ceremony / Tyranny from above. The Dutch metal scene has always been a big contributor to the metal genre. It's ridiculous how big our small country can be, just ridiculous.
