How do you know when something is worth the trouble?
That’s the question Martha’s exploring in this episode of The Gathering Room, and the short answer is: If it’s your passion, it’s always worth the trouble!
Martha’s recent trip to New York with her family to see Ani DiFranco on Broadway ended up being an enormous amount of trouble-but when she finally got to see the show, she was blown away. She found that the joy it brought her was worth all the trouble it took to get there.
She also realized that so much of the art and music and writing that inspires us-the astonishing art, the amazing music, the brilliant books-took an enormous amount of trouble to create. And the fact that these things take trouble to create means they’re worth the trouble.
Are you looking for some creative inspiration? Want to find out if your latest passion is worth the trouble it’s going to take? Then this episode is for you! You can also participate in Martha’s guided meditation to help you tap into the creative power of silence, space, and stillness.

I love Breaking bad toooo!! This is a great episode to remind us that IT IS worth the trouble, the time, the hoopla, the traffic to go and see others ART!! So important to leave the comfort of home and brave the elements! I had a similar experience on Broadway years ago with Zoe Caldwell (best actress EVER) in Maria Callas Master Class. The audience went NUTS! And I was lifted for a whole week, AT LEAST!!

For the first time im finding that comment section is on. However, I don't know anything about you except few decades ago I just collected one of your quote from Readers Digest and that's what made me to search who is Martha Beck in the internet. Found that you speak on Meditation passion etc., was great however, I listen and Osho and bit JK for meditation. Anyway I have watched few vids on Martha Beck however, only thing that touched was that quote collected back then, which is *_"Whoever said that Love is blind is dead wrong. Love is the only thing that let's us see each other with remotest accuracy."_* Hope I recalled this quote correctly. Somehow, I found this quote very deep back then and wrote it down in my note book. When it comes to passion I have realised we talk and use word passion because we are heard and used this word without being experienced. Interestingly, today morning itself I was watching one of money video of Robert Kiosaki where Robert was saying rather condemning the word passion used by people to work at jobs, business to earn money. May be he was right as people use this word in a dry way to just escape the trouble, without really sensing what actually passion was I guess.

Love Ani. It sounds like a remarkably intense, cool trip. Another favorite singer (Tori Amos) says: “dance with the Sufis, celebrate your Top Ten in the Charts of Pain.” 😣 😂
