And a happy 94 birthday to Clint Eastwood.

Clint Eastwood has played so many great characters that I have actually lost count, and he seemed best playing the unconventional character who seemed to be an outsider and rogue who was only answerable to himself. And I guess that appeals to many people i.e. a case of "do you prefer soft justice, or the type of justice that means that wrong-un's never do wrong again?". His characters have an impact with audiences on a rather profound psychological level imo.
@MrSuperphil5 ай бұрын
He reminds me a bit of the Charles Bronson character in the Death Wish films. Instead of taking the bad guys to prison, Eastwood usually ends up shooting them. Lol.

Good morning guys. I know Clint Eastwood birthday is now over, but still he has got a legacy. As part of his celebration I like for everyone to come out with memorable lines from either from Clint or from a character in a Clint Eastwood film.

My 3rd favourite Clint movie, it does have a Dirty Harry vibe but Shockley is a more moody character. Locke is great, I always liked her and never understood the dislike some have for her most people don't even know she was Oscar nominated once. Incidentally, in the scene where she walks into the art gallery in Sudden Impact you can spot Clint reflected in a window or mirror watching her as he directs the movie.
@MrSuperphil5 ай бұрын
Cheers mate. Yeah i cant understand also why some fans say she cant act. Shes great. Didnt know about the art gallery scene. Thats the trouble when you film scenes involving mirrors. 🪞

I never had a problem with Sondra Locke. I don't if it was down to snobby critics who didn't like the action stars wife/girlfriend actress. I noticed critics didn't like Jill Ireland whenever she starred with Charles Bronson. Sondra Locke also directed two films. Ratboy which was produced by Malpaso (Clint's film production) and Impulse 1990 cop thriller. It just a shame Sondra Locke did go through obscurity after she split up with Clint.

@@ninfilms I think this was it, I seen a documentary which was alluding to this also. I found her to be really good on screen and obviously easy on the eye. Really enjoyed that run of Eastwood flicks she was in.

The Gauntlet is great film. Totally bonkers. I noticed there is a Easter egg moment where (Ben Shockley) Clint Eastwood points a gun at the hell angels bikers and says the line "this is my gun Clyde". The following year Clint Eastwood made the comedy Any Which Way But Loose which the orangutan was named Clyde. I love the Jerry Fielding music and the bonkers finale with the coppers shoot the bus. Happy birthday Clint Eastwood.

@@MrSuperphil I always find it funny as if there is a film prediction on the future project. Sylvester Stallone, Arnie and Jason Statham have starred in past films where they been branded as Expendable. Stallone: Rambo First Blood part 2 Arnie: Predator Jason Statham: The Bank Job I feel Stallone missed a trick not hiring Christopher Walker and Tom Berenger played "Expendables" mercenaries in The Dogs of War. Although Clint Eastwood hasn't been branded as Expendable but Bruce Willis starred in 16 Blocks which looks similar to The Gauntlet but with a male prisoner.

I always wanted a film to be done like The Expendables - but that featured all the actors to have played James Bond. Sadly that cant happen now with Connery and Moore not with us.
