Something interesting is that the lyrics of To Be Or Not To Be on the surface talks about a breakup, but looking deeper into it, it also ties into their storyline as well! The events that happen in the MV takes place after Come Back Home, where after the members of Oneus (the monarchs) defended the child, they sealed their souls into the necklace so humans won't be harmed (uhh its a long story ahaha but its all explained in their concept films! Its basically about Helios being jealous of the monarchs who ruled and protected the humans so he made the sun disappear, the monarchs were then sacrificed by the humans and lots of stuff happen...) In To be or Not to Be, they awaken from a slumber that Helios put them under, but to get back their power and to escape they must get back the necklace, and also kill the descendants of the child they protected and loved. The lyrics and song are BUILT upon contrast, with the change from triple to duple meters, the lyrics that talk about their love but also regret and many more (I can write a whole essay on this but that'll be overkill ahaha) that essentially describes their struggle over the hard decision; They are "standing at a crossroad" and the path they take will decide whether they are "dead or alive".

Oneus is recognized for handling a variety of concepts on stage, the boys are very hardworking, I would like to recommend something nice to see with all my heart after to be or not to be and it is Airplane is part of the album Lived. The boys presented it as a gift for their fans and each presentation has different concepts and small changes in the choreography, the song is so happy that it will surely make you smile :D

Hey, about Ravn, I guess the person who said that was refering to the time he went on hiatus for months, just after their debut, it was a hard time for him and us as fans but he's good right now, all the group is good and stilll doing activities as usual, so you don't have to worry about that :) they promised they will be together for a long time and hold their 10th anniversary so I'm sure they will make it. You won't be dissapointed, they are amazing. Subtle, thoughtful, carefully crafted, and multilayered performances/music that are sincere and focused on expressiveness, even if it’s not “strategic” or cool to be so serious. The original song was legendary for honestly addressing bullying, and tells about a victim getting revenge. Oneus updated it to reflect bullying today, but w/ the message any violence, even in revenge, leaves no winners. 🌙Oneus’ “I Shall Debut” and “Debut Project (with Onewe)” reality shows. Debut Project Ep.7’s campfire scene is essential. Esp if you’re a Leedo stan, look up how he joined RBW and prepare to feel. 🌙Weekly Idol ep.412: They co-guest w/ ATEEZ, so you get double the off-the-chart charms, and their extrovert vs introvert chemistry and camaraderie are adorable. Fun Fact: To be or not to be and Come Back Home are related to one another. The members are crowned monarchs now being imprisoned by Helios. The monarchs were once the glorious rulers who defeated the evils of the world and imprisoned the dark forces in a red necklace. And now, it is the duty of the monarchs to safeguard the necklace from the evil forces. On the other side, Helios grieves for the death of his son Phaethon and his anguish turns against the six monarchs. Helios’s anger made him cast a spell on the monarchs to trap them in a prison and cursed them to remain in slumber for years until they sacrifice the blood of a child they love so dearly. The theories continue from their previous music video of “Come Back Home,” as the members are seen risking their own lives to rescue a child, which ultimately gives the answer of who the child is. After staying in slumber, tortured with unpleasant dreams for hundreds of years, the members wake up in the contemporary world. As the members are connected with the necklace, they instantly set off to get hold of it. The red necklace is now guarded as antique jewelry in an exhibition-like place. The monarchs try to take over the necklace when they are cornered by armed soldiers and shot to death, but the members are immortal and a number of bullets won’t stop them from their purpose. In the end, the members finally get the necklace and continue to protect it as they used to years ago.

Okay so I'm at the point in your video where you mention Ravn (pron: Raven) and his temporary halt in activities. The thing with that is about 2 months into debut (so back in march of 2019), RBW had announced he'd be temporarily halting all activities with ONEUS due to health and personal reasons, and was sent home to rest. He was gone for about two months (in terms of official appearances, as we did find out he was back abt a week or two before it was announced, through an ad where all 6 were) and came back on May 11th 2019 - ONEUS's first official appearance as 6 again since after his temp hiatus. In those two months a L O T of confusion was going around, as RBW didn't keep us updated AT all on how he was doing, and it didn't make the situation any better when Arirang aired two episodes of PromiSINGER about ONEUS - where any mention of Ravn was pretty much erased or cropped - even in the description of the videos, so you can only imagine what kind of panic we went into thinking something happened and he wasn't in ONEUS anymore. However Ravn later clarified that he struggled with bad back pains and knee pains (it's in a Twilight MV behind iirc) - most likely due to the matrix move in the Valkyrie choreo. So don't worry, he's here to stay, he hasn't left!! As for the members' names + pronounciations it's: Ravn (Raven), Seoho (So-ho), Leedo (E-do), Hwanwoong (Hwan-ung), Keonhee (Ko-ni / Kon-hee) and Xion (Shion). I left a (pretty long) comment under your previous reaction to ONEUS video where I left a list of covers ONEUS did (a lot of them being live as they were performed at radio shows, Idol Radio or pre-debut - as well as ones that are on their yt channel) so if you'd be interested it's there ^^ As for TBONTB - it has a storyline and it's linked to what you saw in the MV of Come Back Home and two story films released to explain the story (audio is in english, narrated by AleXa) - I'll leave the summary of the storyline as a separate comment to not make this one longer.

Storyline summary (tw violence & shooting) + my observations at the end: In Come Back Home's story film, ONEUS were 6 monarchs who were loved and worshipped by the people they ruled over, a love equally as strong as the love the monarchs held for their people. Upon seeing just how worshipped the monarchs were by humans, Helios became jealous and threatened to take away the sun from the humans. Fearful of being cursed by the sun deity, the humans sacrificed the six monarchs and all their servants - having been banished to the eternal night by Helios, the servants became cursed ghouls and the monarchs being cursed with having to drink human blood, something they did only to evil-doers as they still held love for humans, despite being sacrificed. Seeing how the now-vampire monarchs protected humans, the cursed servants became enraged - they were disgusted by the humans' betrayal (sacrificing the monarchs and them in order to keep the sun) and a war broke out between the monarchs and the cursed servants. The monarchs worshipped the moon and waited for the day of an eclipse, as a child would be born - one who were to be used for a ceremony to bring the eternal night to its end. Once the child was born, the cursed servants tried to kill the child - whom the monarchs were protecting. It was a war that lasted ten years. In the end, the monarchs finally won, however one servant was left - one they couldn't kill, as the servant had told them that on the night of a red moon, he would come back for the child. The sky turned red with the moon, and just like the servant had foretold, he rose again and tried to slay the child - however his efforts were futile, as in the end, the monarchs were the last ones standing. The souls of the deceased cursed servants were then sealed within a necklace by the monarchs. Knowing what it would entail for their beloved humans if they were still around (endless war, pain and suffering), the monarchs put down their crowns, and also sealed their own souls in the necklace. At some point, Helios was struck with grief at the loss of his son, Phaeton who died while trying to ride his father's sun chariot to prove to his friends that he truly was the son of the sun god, Helios. Helios's grief then turned into anger which fell onto the monarchs who fled into the darkness. However Helios caught them and stripped them of their powers, imprisoning them in a chamber made of the charred remains of the sun chariot. This caused them to fall into an endless slumber, and Helios cast the most powerful curse yet upon the monarchs - in order to regain their powers and escape, the monarchs had to consume the blood of the prophetic child's descendants. - What you see at the start of the To Be Or Not To Be MV is but a mere illusion - a dream in the monarchs' endless slumber, proven true by the fact that Hwanwoong wakes up from that dream and his eyes turn red. Throughout the course of the MV we see settings that contrast between that dream, and their reality in which they are struggling to decide whether To Be (Live) or Not To Be (Die). We can see how each one of them slowly is shown in bloody scenes or ones where they give into the temptation of drinking blood - Leedo bathing in blood (which is actually watermelon juice), Hwanwoong wearing the thorn crown and blood dripping down his fingers, Ravn piercing people with his spear, Seoho seeing that he has to make a choice, Xion's charred hands which he later cuts (not shown, but implied) and feeds Keonhee his blood. We can also see the waking up process - with Keonhee it's especially prominent as the blindfold that kept him blind to reality and kept him in the slumber falls off upon drinking blood. - We see how the monarchs enter a white room, looking much stronger than before and get ambushed by snipers. Those snipers shooting at them could symbolize their subconscious trying to stop them one last time from escaping - however their will to live is stronger, and they reclaim their power, as well as the necklace within which their souls are locked away - thus regaining their full power and breaking Helios's curse. At the end we also see Keonhee taking back the monarchs' crown, meaning they have come back - however different. The ''I have to get rid of you in my heart to live again'' lyric could very well symbolize the monarchs killing the love they held for humans and realizing that if the humans were willing to sacrifice them so easily to keep something (in this case the sun), why should they (the monarchs) be suffering in order to sustain the selfish humans? Lastly: To Be Or Not To Be symbolizes a difficult choice that has to be made in order for something to happen - which in the case of ONEUS's story, means either the monarchs deciding to kill to live, or die and sustain their beloved humans. Which directly ties into how TBONTB and a bside on LIVED (the mini album this song is from) called ''Dead Or Alive'' are tied together (As said by the members). The phrase ''dead or alive'' also appears within the song, just like how ''To Be Or Not To Be'' appears in the lyrics of ''Dead or Alive''. Which kind of goes to show what I just mentioned about a choice having to be made. Worth noting: Another thing that just came to mind was how in the ''To Be Or Not To Be story film'' videos we first see the monarchs in that dark place, putting their crown down as they seal away their souls in that red necklace, then in the MV itself near the end, we see the six of them in a white room, with the necklace hanging on that hand sculpture. To me that kind of signifies that they are within that necklace (hence why the room is white and there is no crown around it) and trying to get it to reclaim their souls and get back to reality. Hence why the scene after the drop of blood (symbolizing they did give into temptation and chose to kill and drink the blood of the prophetic child's descendants to live (To Be) ) shows them again in a dark setting, reclaiming their crown from where it lay and rest for a century. Check out ''Come Back Home concept film'' and both ''To Be Or Not To Be Story Film'' 1 and 2, it's narrated in english by AleXa and shows you some of the events that occured and led up to the monarchs' imprisonment by Helios.

Are you tryin' to make Kanghyun jealous..? 🤨😉 The concept of "A Song Written Easily" is that they were with a partner, and they loved listening to break-up songs together; now they've split up themselves, listening to all those songs have made it easy to write this one. Korea is a peninsula, sticking off the northeast coast of China. It does have two islands of its own, Ulleung to the east, and the larger and more famous Jeju Island to the south, which is a popular holiday destination. Not sure where the video was filmed, though. Ravn is pronounced "Raven," like you think. He named himself after Raven Darkholme, aka Mystique from the X-Men comics and movies. Apparently they have a lore running through their videos, not necessarily in chronological order, where they're kings who were killed and brought back as vampires. Hence all the blood and _not staying down when they're shot._ As far as further viewing, I'd recommend "I Shall Debut"; there are two short series where they go through various tasks and trials to prepare them for... well, debut. You can pick it up in literally a couple of hours, and because it's a phonetic alphabet, you'll be able to read _anything_ in Korean (like, for instance, the names of your favourite idols 😉) and know _exactly_ how to pronounce them.

Also hyungline being weird and maknae line being an annoying mess, you'll find the videos on the channel :D And please, I can absolutely understand why the gun shot scenes were a bit much, and I wish they did put a warning at the start, even as someone who enjoys dark and gruesome content :/ If you choose to check out their concept films (which I highly recommend!), be warned that they feature a bit of light bloodyness as well, similar to Come Back Home.. Ravn (pronounced likr the bird) was on hiatus shortly after debut last year, but he returned with Twilight and hasn't left since luckily! As for live vocals - their performances on radio shows (Blue Sky, Hide and Seek) and rooftop live (Dizzy!) are worth a watch! As well as live stages for some of their Bsides - Airplane, English Girl, Level Up, Red Thread and Hero come to mind. Also just some of their music show stages for title tracks, just like Mamamoo they sing live AND play around with adlibs! Also, while not live - all their stages on Road To Kingdom are 100% worth a watch, as is their performance on MAMA 2019. AND! For pure, raw vocals - you know those highlight medley groups do before an album releases? Oneus sings those a capella. Just search for the highlight medleys for Lived and Raise Us! Here is an overview of it and my theory on the entire thing of Come Back Home and To Be Or Not To Be: The story (from the trailer and story film) is that the world was once ruled by six monarchs, who were loved and admired by everyone but they were jealous of Helios, god of the sun. Helios was jealous of the humans’ praise and worship of the monarchs so he threatened them with making the sun disappear forever if the six monarchs were not sacrificed to Helios. Finally the humans sacrificed the monarchs where they and their servants were cast to exile. He cursed them with a thirst for blood from the humans they cherished and once protected. Yet they only drank blood from evil people and continued to protect the humans but not the same way they had. The servants however hated humans for their betrayal to the monarchs and killed humans without mercy. A prophecy was given that a child would be born on the day of an eclipse to be used in a ceremony to bring an eternal night to humans. When the day of the eclipse came a child was born and a war between the monarchs and their servants began. Said in the lines “on the day of the eclipse a child was born as predicted; and the devastating war between the monarchs and their servants, to protect the child, lasted 10 years.” The war lasted ten years before the monarchs finally won but when cutting the neck of the last marquis he pledged he would be back for the child when the red moon appears again. The battle scenes in the video are of the last battle of the war where the monarchs won. The story films explain what happens after they won the war and what Helios does to them. To Be Or Not To Be is how they are woken centuries later, in the modern era, and they have to retrieve the necklace they sealed their souls inside of. When they try to retrieve the necklace they are shot, the more modern version of ways to stop threats instead of swords. The bathtub of blood Leedo is in represents the blood he’s soaked in from the battles; Xion’s hands covered in black represent that their hands are still trapped like “cuffs” in a sense; Keonhee is believed to have lost himself and silenced with innocence and blinding himself to death and dread until he has to face it; Seoho is trapped in one place and bound to the root of his own issues; Hwanwoong with the thorns are to reference the biblical story of Jesus and his crown of thorns that he wore, in a sense he’s wearing it to show he is trapped in the role of sacrifice that he can’t escape from; Ravn is the one killing the descents of the child to free the others of their curse and pain but he falls to his knees in despair realizing he took the lives of people he cared about. The opening scene of them having dinner is of them is before they were imprisoned by Helios for the death of his son. However, in the dance scene the reference of the giving of blood to wake the others is represented by Hwanwoong laying down and Seoho above him to be appearing to cut his hand, wrist, or arm then Hwanwoong wakes up. My theory is that since the song Dead or Alive off the album is referenced several times and To Be Or Not To Be is referenced in Dead or Alive it will be another video release to continue the story that the ending cliffhanger left us with, or the next comeback. PS: the audio clip played at the end, when played in reverse, says “devil” as the title of the album “Lived” does. And the four octave high note Seoho did was actually a joke he did in the sound studio and they decided to keep it instead of the original three octave high note.
