Firstly, please pass on my condolences and best wishes to Mark and his family at this difficult time, very sad news. Regarding your show, hopefully the 505 Mk 2 manual will be out soon so that potential buyers who already own the original can make an informed decision as to whether to upgrade. I upgraded mine with more memory ( despite the glue on the micro SD card) so the Mark 2 is going to have to tick a lot of boxes before I can consider getting one. Looks like I will doing one of my trusty "pros and cons" list to decide!! Great show , Gaz, thank you.

Great show...pre-ordered my 505 MK2 already.. Hopefully will have in January. Also pre-ordered the SP404 MK2. Never had one and want to use it for effects with my MPC and Technics. GAS has been strong lately with me. 😁 Also anyone who isn't familiar with Bristol UK where our gracious host lives I recommend researching the vast amount of musical talent and creativity that has come from Bristol. ✌

The word from Roland US, is February 2021 for the 505mk2. I do hope you get yours in January. I don’t wish anyone the wait we’re getting here.

this was a right balls up. the amount of creative stuff you can do with the rc505 is out of this world but with the mk2 version they havent actually expanded on any of that all theyve done is kick the can down the road. they didnt even upgrade the cheap plastic housing. i wont be upgrading mine.

Brilliant video! Hello Bristol, from Cornwall! I pre-ordered my RC-505 MKII at the start of Oct...I'm so gassed for its release... The only people that have access to the MKII are those who are part of Swissbeatbox and in collaboration with Roland/Boss. Check out Swissbeatbox's channel who are showcasing the capabilities of the new one! It's being used in these looping battles to showcase the prototype, before it releases to the masses! :D

I’m curious why you’re seemingly not excited about the new SP-404 Mk2.. Heaps of sample time. Experimental fx's. Better drum possibilities. Battery powered for anywhere nooodling. Should be right up your strasse. Personally I couldn’t care less about that generic 404 lofi' beat making. But the MK2 looks like a dream machine to get lost in for fun for any genre. Would be interesting to see if you like it as a musician. So sad to hear about Mark Tinleys daughter. ❤️ for him and his family.

I wonder, are there other languages that use the letter 'o' in the Roland x0x namings? Five oh five, eight oh eight. Other languages same? Cinq oh cinq? Otto oh otto? Dare I say, sechs oh sechs?? :-)

I am quite sure calling the number 0 by the letter O is a uniquely English thing. Other languages would use their word for zero, usually a word cognate with zero or nul, or they would just say the full number, however they say six-hundred-and-six as opposed to six zero six. In German, for instance, I'd presume "der Roland Sechshundertsechs" or simply "der Sechshundertsechs" would be the way to refer to the 606.
